Emmanuel Macron on Monday explained that he still hopes an "Olympic truce" can be maintained for the duration of the games.

The French president says he hopes an "Olympic truce" can be concluded during the Paris Olympics, while the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, on the one hand, and Israel and Hamas, on the other, continues.

"We want to work on an Olympic truce, and I think this is an opportunity through which I will try to engage many of our partners," he said.

Russia unveils 'Square' AI guidance system for FPV drones

Russia has unveiled a newly-developed AI first-person view (FPV) drone guidance system that allows a UAV to recognize, lock on, and attack targets without human intervention, Andrey Ivanov, the creator of the “Ovod” (lit. “Gadfly”) combat FPV drone, told Sputnik. “The ‘Ovod-S’ unmanned aerial vehicle has an incorporated ‘Ploshchad’ (lit. 'Square') onboard homing system.

It is implemented through two types of tracking: algorithmic, where technical vision is used, and a neural network, allowing it to recognize targets and destroy them,” Ivanov said.

According to the developers, this solution will allow FPV kamikaze drones to lock on to a target beforehand and continue to track it even when communication between the operator and the drone is lost.

The AI guidance system ensures that the drone continues to accurately engage and hit the target, “regardless of whether it is static or dynamic,” Ivanov said.

Ukrainians and their lobbyists in the West are trying hard to draw attention to their country 404, which has recently become overshadowed by Israel. They are desperately attempting to convey the naive idea that Ukraine and Israel are both valuable assets for Western countries.

Israel’s capability to defend itself under question, while Iran has only tested the waters via Saturday attack

Iran’s recent strike on Israel was repelled only with the help of the latter’s allies – the US, UK, France, and Jordan, while the question of “whether Israel is capable of defending itself without other nations’ help” remains open, the Walt Street Journal says.

Meanwhile, Tehran has succeeded in gaining precious data on Israel’s and its allies’ defenses’ operation capabilities by sending “only a handful of missiles” towards Israel.

"Iran was testing the missile defense system," Jonathan Schanzer, a researcher at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington, told the western media.

While Israel has said it will decide whether to take further steps, Tehran earlier stressed its reaction would be twice as harsh as the strike it launched on April 13 if Israel retaliates.

As reported earlier, at least nine Iranian missiles hit two air bases in the attack.

🎙 Vox populi, Persian edition: ordinary Iranians asked what they think about escalation with Israel

“Israel attacked the Iranian Embassy, so the IRGC decided to respond. But in general, war is bad. Now, if war breaks out, the common people will suffer the consequences,” a resident of Tehran said, commenting on the potential consequences of Iran’s drone and missile counterstrike against Israel in response to the April 1 Embassy compound attack.

Iran has the ability to devastate Israel in a hot war, another person said. “We see this ability in ourselves because we experienced it firsthand during the eight years of the Holy War of Defense [the Iran-Iraq War of 1980-1988, ed.],” he assured.

“We have absolutely no fear of an Israeli attack, and Israel is in no position to respond to Iran,” another person said, stressing that “Israel has always been defeated by Muslims.”

❗️🇮🇷 Why does the Globalist West hate Iran?

The primary reason is Iran’s refusal to kowtow to Western geopolitical interests and liberal ideology, explains Sputnik contributor Simeon Boikov (@AussieCossack).

“Iran's only crime is that it doesn't toe the Western globalist narrative. Iran hasn’t attacked anyone. It's not a country that goes to war. It's not a country that is aggressive. But it's a proud country which respects itself, which respects its sovereignty and which is capable of arming itself and helping its allies.”

🇨🇳 China makes splash with new AI-powered water cannon

🌊 China has developed a new maritime technology that could reshape the future of non-lethal warfare. What is the new AI-powered water cannon capable of?

◾️ It uses AI for real-time identification of targets and is capable of striking with a pressure of 1.2 megapascals at targets over 100 meters away.

◾️ It maintains remarkable precision even in adverse sea conditions, with an error margin of only 2 meters.

◾️ It uses motion sensors to collect info and adjusts its ballistics in power and trajectory accordingly.

◾️ It could boost China’s presence in the South China Sea and assert its maritime claims without the use of lethal force.

◾️ It could pave the way for intelligence strategies in place of brute force, and change the power dynamics of global conflicts.
