❗️F-16s will begin arriving in Ukraine this year along with trained pilots, the Pentagon chief said.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said earlier that Russia would begin to hunt down Ukrainian F-16 aircraft as soon as they arrive, adding that Russian air defenses would need only about "20 days of work" to decimate the first batch of these jets delivered to Kiev.

Vladimir Putin, for his part, stressed that the delivery of F-16s would not change anything for Ukraine.

How US foreign military interventions led to huge civilian deaths: Understanding the impact

The Russian Foreign Ministry has released a report on the US' human rights record.

The document contains a chapter on America’s “indiscriminate use of force in zones of armed conflicts” across the world, which is conducted under the slogan of the “global war against terrorism.”

“The US war machine has never been stopped by civilian casualties [in these conflicts],” the report notes, referring to American military operations in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq, as well as Somalia, Yemen and Nigeria, which killed hundreds of thousands of civilians.

According to the report:

◾️ The US military - using unmanned aerial vehicles - has added significantly to civilian death tolls, with the Foreign Policy magazine slamming the practice as “a symbol of tyranny, oppression, lawlessness and impunity," as well as one of the reasons for the radicalization of Muslims around the globe;

◾️ Apart from drones, the US Army used warplanes to launch airstrikes on “undeclared military targets” during special operations, something that especially intensified under the Obama administration;

◾️ During Obama’s rule, the US military carried out 263 airstrikes in an unspecified period of time, resulting in the deaths of 607 civilians in Pakistan;

◾️ On the whole, Obama authorized airstrikes against “undeclared military targets” 10 times more often than his predecessor George W. Bush, which, however, did not stop the Norwegian Nobel Committee from awarding the 44th US president the Peace Prize in 2009;

◾️ “As of February 2020, US Central Command has stopped publishing statistics on civilian deaths during its military operations abroad. At the same time, the Centcom failed to create an effective mechanism for impartial investigation into civilian deaths-related cases.”

We know what NATO looks for in different countries — Bolivia's president

In an exclusive interview to Sputnik, President of Bolivia Luis Arce declared that Argentina's desire to join NATO is posing a threat to Latin America as NATO has played "a fundamental role" in the world's crises, including the Ukraine conflict.

"Argentina's desire to join NATO is putting the peace of the region at risk because we know what NATO looks for in different countries. Look at what is happening in the Ukraine-Russia conflict. NATO also played a fundamental role in explaining what is happening in that part of the planet," he said.

A bridge too far? Latest batch of US weapons not reaching Ukraine anytime soon

With the latest $61 billion military aid package finally being approved by US lawmakers, Washington is expected to sign contracts for weapons and military hardware for Kiev worth about $6 billion soon, Politico reports, citing two unnamed US officials.

This latest package is going to include air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles (such as Patriot missiles), artillery shells, drones and anti-drone weapons, and HIMARS rockets, the media outlet claims.

All these goodies, however, are not expected to reach the Kiev regime anytime soon as their procurement is being carried out under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, a program that involves awarding US companies contracts to manufacture arms and equipment rather than to draw them from existing US military stocks.

Since the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict in February 2022, the United States and its NATO allies have generously supplied the regime in Kiev with weapons and munitions, including main battle tanks, multiple launch rocket systems, armored vehicles and anti-air weaponry.

Despite the sheer volume of this military supplies rendered to Kiev, these weapons did not help Ukraine make any meaningful gains on the battlefield, while a not-insignificant part of this gear has since ended up on the black market. The only thing these arms shipments seem to accomplish is to help prolong the Ukrainian conflict, and the Russian military keeps making good on its promise to keep destroying Western weapons as soon as they are deployed by Kiev.

Ukraine plotting chemical weapons provocation amid failures on battlefield – Russia’s OPCW envoy

The Kiev regime may stage a provocation with the use of chemical agents against the backdrop of its military flops at the front line, Vladimir Tarabrin, Russia’s permanent representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), told reporters.

“Given that the situation on the battlefield is developing unfavorably for Kiev, we can expect the Ukrainian neo-Nazis to go to all lengths and continue organizing various kinds of provocations, including those related to the use of toxic substances,” Tarabrin said, in an apparent nod to Russian forces’ advance in several frontline areas.

He added that Russian soldiers have repeatedly recorded cases of the Ukrainian Armed Forces using chemical munitions, including riot control agents, in the special military operation. “Various toxic chemicals were also used, among them those produced in the US,” Russia’s OPCW envoy noted.

Tarabrin also said that Russia “regularly reports information on the supply of listed and non-listed toxic chemicals to Ukraine from the US and its NATO allies to the OPCW’s technical secretariat.”

The envoy pointed out that these deliveries are carried out by “professional mercenaries and intelligence services of Western countries.” In addition, Moscow provides data on the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ provocations with the use of toxic substances, partly planned and carried out by Western intelligence services, Tarabrin concluded.
