Sweden has no plans to send personnel to Ukraine, but reserves the option to consider such a possibility if it is offered by NATO allies, Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonson said.
Earlier, Aftonbladet newspaper reported in an article by Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson and representatives of the Swedish parliament that Sweden will allocate an additional $28 million for defense and will receive $85 million in reallocations. The money was allocated to "strengthen the country's defense capabilities".
Sweden officially became NATO's 32nd member in March.
Russia has emphasized unprecedented NATO activity near its western borders in recent years. Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the alliance's military buildup in Europe. The Kremlin has noted that Russia is not threatening anyone, but will not ignore actions potentially dangerous to its interests.

The Biden administration is working to send an additional Patriot air defense missile system to Ukraine, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.
Funds for the single battery and accompanying radars would most likely come out of the $61 billion assistance package recently pushed through Congress.
European patrons of the Kiev regime are also working on resourcing additional Patriot systems from their stocks, the sources added.
The report falls in sync with the surprise visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Kiev. As the Russian Armed Forces make significant advances in the Kharkov region, forcing Ukrainian troops to retreat, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky yet again angled for additional air defense support. Kiev wants two Patriots for the Kharkov region alone. Germany committed to send another Patriot system to Ukraine back in April, but other European allies have been reluctant to dip into their already depleted stocks.
Moscow has repeatedly said that the Patriot PAC-2 air-defense systems would be a legitimate target like all other NATO weaponry fueling the proxy conflict.

The Russian Forces have completely liberated Rabotino, a village in the Zaporozhye region lying at strategic crossroads.

Dual nationality, single duty: young Russo-Italian enlists in special military operation
A resident of Nizhny Novgorod with dual Russian and Italian citizenship has become a participant of the special military operation, local authorities said.
The 19-year-old soldier, with the call sign “Ezio,” has dual citizenship: he was born in Italy, but at the age of five, he returned with his mother to their native city of Nizhny Novgorod. Having lived in Russia for almost 15 years, the young man admits that this is the country he considers his true home.
His mother, grandmother, and brother are waiting for him at home.
He signed a military contract in October 2023 after undergoing additional verification. The whole process took about two weeks. During his military service, the young man continues to receive distance education in college, studying “Law and the Organization of Social Security.”
