US veterans sickened by radiation at Area 52 denied health benefits
Hundreds of veterans of the US Armed Forces have been sickened after being stationed at a top secret base in the Nevada desert, but the confidential nature of their work there has prevented them from receiving benefits for their health conditions. US media documented the story of one such former servicemember, who worked at an installation sometimes called Area 52.
For years the United States conducted extensive nuclear testing near the secret base. A 1975 federal report acknowledged that toxic radioactive dust scattered throughout the area posed a risk to people stationed nearby, but government analysts concluded nuclear testing should continue.
Some $25.7 billion in health benefits have been allocated to employees of the US Department of Energy and other federal agencies who were stationed in the area. But the work of Ely and other military veterans is excluded from service records, meaning they cannot prove they were present at Area 52.

US media documented the story of one such former servicemember, who worked at an installation sometimes called Area 52.
“It scarred my lungs,” said Mark Ely, a 63-year-old retired Air Force technician. “I got cysts on my liver… I started having lipomas, tumors inside my body I had to remove. My lining in my bladder was shed.”

“Discontinuing the work done at the Range would be against the national interest,” concluded the assessment. “The Range could in principle be decommissioned, but the cost would be great… The environmental costs inherent in the work are small and reasonable for the benefits received.”

Will the EU impose sanctions on Israel over Rafah attack?
EU foreign ministers have for the first time seriously discussed the possibility of imposing sanctions on Israel if the Jewish state does not comply with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling to stop the military operation in Rafah, Irish Foreign Minister Michael Martin said.
Despite Friday's court ruling, Israel attacked the camp northeast of Rafah on Sunday. The Palestinian Civil Defense claimed at least 40 people were killed and dozens more injured.

Germany's Pistorius offers alternative to compulsory military service
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius presented at the Social Democratic Party (SPD) meeting proposals to reform military service in the country, while not returning to the abolished in 2011 universal military connoscription, Der Spiegel reported.
Instead of connoscription, the minister proposed to use various benefits to attract people to the army - free driver's license, discounts on education and language courses.
Pistorius did not say the word "connoscription" once during his speech, Spiegel noted.

“There's a reason reporting military losses in Ukraine as illegal and access to the front is strictly restricted. Ukriane is lying about the vast death toll. And Western Client media is complying”, as per the stunned journalist’s X post.

Ex-Pentagon officer praises Russia's EW systems triumphantly jamming Western weapons in Ukraine
"Russia has the most capable electronic warfare systems in the world, with the longest range and most powerful GPS and radio frequency jammers of any nation," David T. Pyne, an EMP Task Force scholar and former US Department of Defense officer, told Sputnik.
Russian EW systems "have proven effective at causing 90% of guided missile and drone systems supplied by the US to Ukraine to miss their target, most importantly HIMARS [High Mobility Artillery Rocket System]," the ex-Pentagon officer said.
Additionally, Russian jamming systems “are likely proving increasingly effective against US supplied Ukrainian air defense systems including Patriot and Hawk [interceptor] missiles enabling Russia to increase its air superiority over Ukraine," Pyne stressed.
Earlier this month, the Washington Post, citing Ukrainian commanders and a Ukrainian military research project, reported that the Russian army's jamming systems have disrupted the accuracy of some of Ukraine's US-supplied precision-guided weapons, prompting Ukrainian forces to stop using them on the battlefield.

Pyne said he was impressed by "the speed at which Russian long-range jammers have been able to adapt to jamming new US and NATO weapon systems that have been introduced into the [Ukraine] conflict."

Russia’s growing media influence in the world sparks alarm in the West
Russian broadcasters such as Sputnik may be outperforming their Western counterparts in terms of media coverage abroad, UK-based non-profit Association for International Broadcasting (AIB) claims.
In its written evidence submission to the UK Parliament's International Development Committee’s Inquiry into Future funding of the BBC World Service, AIB stated that “the global distribution of Russia’s international [media] operations is possibly greater than that of Western broadcasters.”
Sputnik and RT TV and radio services are being broadcast in many of the Global South countries – “including, but not limited to Venezuela, Syria, Mexico, Guatemala, India, Pakistan and South Africa” – and these media operations help Russia spread its influence around the world, AIB laments.
All this praise, however, should perhaps be taken with a grain of salt, seeing how the main purpose of the AIB’s document appears to be securing more British government funding for the BBC.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg advocates for Ukraine's right to use Western weapons to strike Russia.
Sputnik has spoken to experts to answer the burning question: Is NATO bracing for a full-scale war with Russia?
💬 Scott Ritter, former US Marine Corps intelligence officer: It's important to draw a distinction between official NATO policies and what have increasingly become the independent statements of a NATO secretary general who is divorced from reality.
💬 Michael Maloof, former Pentagon senior security policy analyst : So who's calling the shots? It's not coming from the US. Is there some other element that is pushing this agenda to go after Russia? Well, yeah. It's those entities and those ideologies, such as the World Economic Forum that see Russia against its globalist tendencies and globalist goals. And this is probably where it's all heading. These are the people with the money, with the influence, with the control over mass media. These are the folks that are guiding countries such as even the United States and certainly Great Britain.
💬 Larry Johnson, retired CIA intelligence officer and State Department official: Russia will take appropriate steps to counter. And as Russia takes those steps, that will end up further reinforcing the West's mind that Russia is intent on expanding the war when, in fact, all that Russia is doing is reacting to Western provocations.

❗️ Recent statements by Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov on the memory of the USSR's victory over fascism:
◾️ In addition to historical illiteracy in the West, there are attempts to distort the knowledge of history, to erase everything that concerns the USSR in the fight against fascism.
◾️ Western leaders are playing with fire, ignorance of history leads to a lack of understanding of the dangers that threaten them, and this applies to the revival of fascism.
◾️ The young generation in European countries simply does not know who fought with whom in the Second World War, they have not been taught about it.
◾️ Russia must tell about the role of the Soviet people in the struggle against fascism.
