🤖 CES 2022 starts to fall apart
The world’s biggest technology show may not include many of its usual suspects as T-Mobile, Amazon, AT&T, Meta, Twitter, Pinterest, and iHeartRadio have all announced this week that they won’t attend this year’s annual Las Vegas tech expo in light of a new wave of COVID-19 cases in the US.
As of Wednesday, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) says it’s received 42 CES exhibitor cancellations but has also reportedly added 60 new exhibitors in that time.
A CTA statement says, “At this point, we’re very much focused on having this show and doing it safely and putting the right protocols in place to ensure that people feel comfortable with it.”

US President Joe Biden disclosed on Wednesday that he would be willing to run for reelection in 2024, so long as he remains in good health, but underscoring that a rematch against his predecessor would "increase the prospect."
During an interview, when asked if he'd stick to his second term plans if former US President Donald Trump weighed into the election cycle, Biden didn't shy away.
🗣"You’re trying to tempt me now," Biden said jokingly. "Sure. Why would I not run against Donald Trump for the nominee? That’ll increase the prospect of running."
Biden has previously indicated that he is interested in running for his second term so long as his health remains in top shape.

🇷🇺 Russian President Vladimir Putin talks about security guarantees.
Russia's law on "foreign agents" is more liberal than that in the US, where this law was invented, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In Russia, foreign agents are not banned and out of 200,000 registered NGOs only 74 organisations are labelled as foreign agents, Putin said at his annual press conference.

❌ A judge has rejected Michael Flynn's request to block the 6 January Panel's subpoenas for his phone records and demands to testify.
The lieutenant general filed the lawsuit on Tuesday, a day after he was scheduled to appear before the committee.
Flynn requested a temporary restraining order, saying the subpoena of his telephone records had "raised significant Constitutional and practical concerns".
He also argued that it violated the First Amendment, which among other things protects freedom of speech, as well as his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.
