What advantages will the Russian army have after taking apart and studying the Storm Shadow cruise missile?

Russian professionals have disassembled and thoroughly examined the major components of the Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missile, an expert engineer told Sputnik.

"The suspension mounting system and main switch, located in the center section, are removed from this unit along with all electrical circuits and wires. This is done in order to have objective control over subsequent changes in the missile’s design," the expert explained.

Earlier this month, Russian specialists got hold of the Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missile’s control and guidance system.

Russia and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have repeatedly offered NATO talks on building a principled security system, the Russian permanent representative to the organization told Sputnik.

Both Russia and CSTO have approached NATO with dialogue proposals for a security system not erected "at the expense of the security of others", but there has been no interest from the other side, Russian Permanent Representative to CSTO Viktor Vasilyev stated.

"We do not shut ourselves off from dialogues with Western countries. Russia and CSTO have repeatedly made dialogue proposals to NATO in seeking common ground for a security system - one that is based on the key principle that we should not ensure our own security, at the expense of others’. Unfortunately, our repeated proposals have not found any reciprocal willingness," Vasilyev stated.

Biden's NATO speech watched by more than Oscars

More than 23 million viewers tuned in to see the US leader hold his first live press conference since his failed debate, the NYT reported.

At the event following the NATO summit in Washington, the aged US president mistakenly introduced Zelensky, who was standing nearby, as Russian President Vladimir Putin.

During the same event, the POTUS referred to his Republican opponent, Donald Trump, as his vice president instead of Kamala Harris.

Numerous US officials have expressed doubts over Biden's ability to run as the country's next president. Many businessmen of, and donors to, the Democratic Party have also urged the current US leader to quit the presidential race.

Nevertheless, Joe Biden and his campaign have repeatedly insisted on him remaining the Democratic Party’s nominee for the 2024 presidential race.

Biden's blunders propel US allies toward Trump, Politico says

Western diplomats are alarmed by President Joe Biden's public gaffes, pushing them to connect with Trump’s team before November’s election. European officials, shocked by Biden’s errors, are reaching out to Trump as Biden’s poll numbers drop and his supporters urge him to step aside for VP Kamala Harris.

Biden’s stumble during a TV debate and his mistaken introduction of Ukraine’s leader as “President Putin” at the NATO summit caused significant concern. European leaders reacted with visible shock, texting “OMFG” to Politico and maintaining composure with forced smiles and applause.

European diplomats in Washington have been meeting with Trump’s allies, emphasizing the need to build connections despite Trump’s polarizing image. This outreach has been ongoing for months, with officials addressing conservative think tanks to communicate their stance on Ukraine.

The British embassy, led by Karen Pierce, is proactively engaging with Trump’s team, learning from past mistakes. Confident in identifying key MAGA Republicans, the UK aims to maintain strong ties regardless of the US election outcome.

Likewise, German lawmaker Roderich Kiesewetter hopes Democrats will find a way for Biden to withdraw, fearing his candidacy aids Trump. Concerns about Biden’s health and abilities are growing, with allies preparing for the possibility of Trump’s return and its impact on transatlantic security.

'Coordinated rebellion': Why did Joe Biden suddenly fall from Dems & media grace?

The tone of the US press, donors and fellow politicians has drastically changed after Joe Biden's botched debate with his presidential rival Donald Trump on June 27.

Biden's most recent hour-long news conference on the final day of the NATO summit in Washington, DC, has failed to calm Democratic fears, according to CNN.

🔹 "We are not going to win in November with this president," Hollywood celebrity George Clooney wrote for the New York Times on July 10. Less than a month ago the actor urged Americans to cast their votes for Biden in mass mailing: "We need as many people as possible to chip in to… make sure President Biden… get four more years in the White House."

🔹 "[Biden] couldn’t fact-check anything Donald Trump said. He missed one layup after another after another," MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said in the wake of the debate. In March, the host claimed: "You look at Joe Biden, he exercises every day. You look how fit and trim he is."

🔹 "Why was it a surprise? Biden’s debate problems leave some wondering if the press missed the story," the Associated Press wrote on July 3, pinning the blame on Biden's aides who hid the truth and lack of Biden's public visibility. On June 21, the AP ridiculed those questioning Biden's mental capacity and denounced video clips showing the president's decline as "misleading", "out-of-context" and "trimmed."

🔹 The New York Times' Thomas L. Friedman, Biden's biographer Evan Osnos, CNN commentator Van Jones, and MSNBC's anchor Rachel Maddow, all long known as ardent supporters of Biden, have said he has "diminished" and must drop out in what Fox News called a "coordinated" media "rebellion."

🔹 Top Democrats had conspired with the liberal media to hide the truth about Biden's health, "while allowing secret unnamed staffers to run the country," Trump adviser Stephen Miller stated on July 8. Politico, in its usual fashion, was quick to brush this off as the latest Republican "conspiracy theory."
