On Wednesday night, Katy Perry launched her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency at the Resorts World Theater. The concert, which the artist is referring to as “Perry Playland”, is a five-act show that included a set consisting of mushrooms, an oversized snail, rubber ducks and a rocking horse.

In typical Perry fashion, she performed on stage in a variety of wild outfits, including a dress featuring a beer can bra fit that actually poured out a beverage. The performer even joked about being in need of a drink because she's "now 37, you know." She is expected to play eight shows between December 2021 and January 2022.

📚 The man who killed five people before being shot by police in Colorado on Monday predicted the murders and named some of his victims in science fiction novels, according to law enforcement and the press. Lyndon McLeod wrote the science fiction trilogy "Sanction" between 2018 and 2020 under the name Roman McClay.

Authorities confirmed that one of the victims was called that and was killed at the address mentioned in the book. In another volume, the author recounts the murder of a woman, Alicia Cárdenas, also identified as one of the victims.

The 47-year-old man opened fire for the first time at a tattoo parlor in Denver, killing tattoo artist and shop owner Alicia Cárdenas. He later fatally wounded Michael Swinyard, and then went to Lakewood, outside of Denver, where he killed a man at another tattoo parlor and a hotel receptionist.

🏠 Steal any property or deal any drugs this year? Well, the IRS wants it reported as taxable income.

The Internal Revenue Service is reminding Americans that they must report all of their hard-earned income to be taxed, even if it is the result of criminal activity.

🗣 “Income from illegal activities, such as money from dealing illegal drugs, must be included in your income on Schedule 1 (Form 1040), line 8z, or on Schedule C (Form 1040) if from your self-employment activity,” the bureau said.

The IRS did not say whether career thieves could deduct work expenses such as ski masks, crowbars and getaway vans on their tax forms.

🚗 Tesla is recalling a whopping 475,318 vehicles!

Certain Model S and Model 3 EVs from the Texas-based carmaker have safety issues with the front trunk (known as the portmanteau, "frunk") and rearview camera display, based on filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The coaxial cable is tied to a harness in the trunk lid, and can wear out after repeatedly opening and closing the trunk. If the center of the coaxial cable is separated by excessive wear, the image from the reversing camera will no longer be visible on the center screen, affecting the driver's visibility and increasing the risk of collision, the agency reported.

Tesla is not aware of any accidents, injuries or deaths related to the problems in the Model 3 and Model S, the NHTSA said.
