Zelensky admitted that he and the entire world want Russia to participate in the second summit on Ukraine.

"The majority of the world today says that Russia must be represented at the second summit, otherwise we will not achieve meaningful results," Zelensky said.

"Since the whole world wants them to be at the table, we cannot be against it," he told AFP.

In early July, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told Sputnik, commenting on the topic of a new summit on Ukraine, that Moscow does not accept ultimatums and does not intend to participate in such events. Also at the moment the ban in Ukraine on negotiations with Russia remains a problem and can significantly complicate the peace process.

Haniyeh was killed in an airstrike on his residence in Tehran where he arrived to attend the inauguration of Iran's new president. Hamas blamed Israel and the US for Haniyeh's death and said the attack would not go unanswered.

Russia and China support the results in Venezuela while US and EU ask for recount

Venezuela has been engulfed in protests after the opposition and its Western sponsoring countries refused to recognize the presidential election results.

Oh la la! France paid almost €500,000 for a lavish dinner for King Charles III

The high-profile banquet for the UK monarch joined a list of France’s exorbitant expenses that pushed the country over the record high €8 million deficit mark, the French audit report reveals.

In 2023, the Élysée Palace hosted the luxurious feast with a price tag of €475,000, including over €165,000 spent on catering and over €40,000 on drinks alone.

Guests were reportedly served blue lobster, crabs and rose macaroons. This costly reception was not the only one on the list of extravagant presidential events that year.

The audit report also highlights Macron’s poor travel planning skills, as the budget lost over €800,000 due to canceled non-refundable trips last year.

Despite soaring prices for everyday essentials and the ever-growing aid for the Kiev regime, the French office still manages to find room in the state budget for such expensive diplomatic engagements.

🚀 Soviet spacecraft spotted in Russian streets: a heavy load indeed

The footage of a peculiar cargo being transported in Russia’s Perm region has sparked a discussion online. Locals suggest that the machinery in question is none other than the Buran spacecraft from the 1980s.

Buran (lit. Snowstorm) was designed to launch cargo and space crews into orbit, carry out military research, and meet national targets in economy, science and defense. It was part of the ambitious Soviet Buran space program for developing reusable spacecraft. The project involved over 1,000 companies across the country.

The orbiter featured a unique automatic landing system, allowing for a fully automatic descent on approach and landing. The breakthrough feature was sought after, and later implemented, in spacecraft design for decades to come.

Its debut uncrewed orbital flight in 1988 became its last, as the funding for the program eventually dried up. Five years later, the program was shut down altogether.

Local media reported afterwards that the space plane was being transported to Yekaterinburg, a city in the neighboring Sverdlovsk region, to be displayed at the military equipment museum upon renovation.

How many Germans approve of decision to greenlight deployment of US long-range missiles on German soil?

Forty-nine percent of Germans believe that Berlin's decision to allow the deployment of US long-range missiles on the country's territory is wrong, a poll conducted by the Forsa Institute for the RTL broadcaster showed.

The report added that 45% of respondents supported the initiative.

At the same time, only 23% of Germans living in the former German Democratic Republic are in favor of the deployment of US missiles, while 74% opposed the decision.

Earlier, the US and Germany said that the US would start deploying "long-range fires capabilities" on German soil from 2026.

Russian President Putin earlier warned that if the United States deploys weapons in Germany, Russia would no longer be bound by the moratorium on deploying medium- and shorter-range strike weapons.

"It is necessary to hold an emergency meeting of the OIC at the level of foreign ministers as soon as possible to condemn the vile act of the Israeli occupation regime and combat terrorist aggression," Bagheri Kani was quoted as saying by the ministry.

US, EU in ‘critical talks’ to prevent Mideast war after Haniyeh’s assassination – report

European and American diplomats have conducted urgent negotiations around the Middle East, in a bid to avert the threat of a full-fledged regional war following the July 31 assassination of Hamas chief, Ismail Haniyeh, the Financial Times (FT) reports.

Wednesday saw “critical talks” in Tehran between Enrique Mora, one of the EU’s most senior diplomats, and high-ranking Iranian officials. In another development, Brett McGurk, the Biden administration’s top official in the Middle East, held discussions in Saudi Arabia.

The negotiations focused on trying to convince Iran to either not retaliate or to stage a symbolic action, unnamed sources told the FT. “Everyone since last night is putting pressure on Tehran to not respond and to contain this,” one insider claimed.

The 62-year-old chief of the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, was killed in an airstrike on his residence in Tehran after he attended the inauguration of the new Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian. Both Hamas and Iran pledged to avenge the killing, blaming Israel for Haniyeh’s death.
