Miami Dolphins fire coach Brian Flores after three seasons with the franchise
Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said the team is approaching its upcoming coaching search with an "open mind" and has not zeroed in on any candidates upon Flores' dismissal.
The decision to fire Flores had as much to do with the culture off the field as it did with the team's performance on it. The Miami team had struggled to display any form of continuity during Flores' three seasons, employing four offensive coordinators, two defensive coordinators and four offensive line coaches, among other personnel changes.

Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Richard Clarida is leaving his post amid revelations regarding his trading of assets with just a few weeks left on his term
The Federal Reserve said Clarida had served as vice chairman and member of the central bank's Executive Board since September 17, 2018.
🗣"Rich's contributions to our monetary policy deliberations, and his leadership of the Fed's first-ever public review of our monetary policy framework, will leave a lasting impact in the field of central banking," Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said in a statement. "I will miss his wise counsel and vital insights."
Clarida’s resignation comes after media reported last year that some senior Federal Reserve officials were involved in financial market trading that could be influenced at least indirectly by their policy decisions.

A surveillance video shows an 18-year-old throwing her baby in a dumpster shortly after delivering it.
The teen mom was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond about an hour after her arrest, despite being charged with attempted murder.
"Alexis is barely 18 herself. Whatever happened is already a tragedy for her family and the community. As humans, we should practice compassion as we wait for the justice system to work,” Attorney Ibukun Adepoju, a public defender representing the mother said.

Back to classrooms: The Chicago Teachers Union votes to accept a deal to reopen city schools to in-person learning on Wednesday
The measure will clear the way for an end to a standoff with Mayor Lori Lightfoot with teachers refusing to work in person for the last four school days.
In addition to a return to in-person teaching on Wednesday, the plan the House of Delegates considered would set conditions by which an individual school would return to remote learning, determined by the rate of staff absences and students in quarantine or isolation, as well as whether it was during a period of high community COVID-19 transmission, where a lower threshold would apply.
