▫️ Russian air defense intercepted and destroyed 59 drones during the night in the Bryansk region

▫️ Drones were also suppressed in the Yeletsky, Lipetsk and Volovsky municipal districts in the Lipetsk region

▫️ Two drones were destroyed in the Tula region, the debris fell on one of the fuel and energy complex facilities. No casualties reported - the resource supply was not interrupted

▫️ 14 drones were shot down in the districts of Podolsk, Ramenskoye, Lyubertsy, Domodedovo and Kolomna in the Moscow Region. A 9-year-old child was killed and one person injured

▫️ Fragments of a drone fell on the territory of a private house in the Troitsky district of Moscow. No casualties reported.

Russian naval forces launch Ocean-2024 strategic drills - Defense Ministry

The Russian naval forces have launched the planned strategic exercise "Ocean-2024" in the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, the Mediterranean, Caspian and Baltic Seas, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"The main objectives of [the drills] ... are to test the readiness of the command staff of the Russian Navy formations and units to manage heterogeneous force groups in their areas of responsibility, solve non-standard operational tasks, comprehensively use high-precision weapons, advanced and modern weapons and military equipment during the practical part of the exercise, as well as expand interaction with the naval forces of partner countries in solving joint tasks at sea," the ministry said.

Drill participants:

🔸 More than 400 warships, submarines and support vessels

🔸 Over 120 aircraft and helicopters of the naval aviation

🔸 About 7,000 units of weapons, military and special equipment

🔸 More than 90,000 personnel

"Operational groups of military command bodies and military contingents from foreign partner states of Russia have been invited to participate in the exercise," the statement said.

Israel wants US Сongress ‘to put pressure’ on South Africa to scrap ICJ genocide case – report

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has urged members of the US Сongress to make South Africa drop its case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which accuses the Jewish state of violating its obligations under the 1948 Genocide Convention over its months-long operation in the Gaza Strip, Axios reports.

“We are asking you to immediately work with lawmakers on the federal and state level, with governors and Jewish organizations, to put pressure on South Africa to change its policy towards Israel,” the Israeli statement reads.

The Israeli diplomats were instructed to let South African diplomats currently working in the US know that “continuing their current actions like supporting Hamas and pushing anti-Israeli moves in international courts will come with a heavy price” and could lead to a suspension of Washington-Pretoria trade relations.

However, the US is unlikely to follow through with such a drastic measure since Washington seeks to “maintain its relationship with South Africa in order to counter the influence of Russia and China.”

South Africa brought its genocide legal proceedings against Israel in December 2023, and a total of 13 countries, including Spain, Belgium, Egypt and Turkiye, have joined the case since then. Israel has rejected the accusations.

The Russian Defense Ministry said earlier on Tuesday that Russian air defenses intercepted 144 drones launched by Ukraine overnight toward the Russian regions of Bryansk, Kursk, Tula, Belgorod, Kaluga, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Oryol, adding that 20 drones targeted Moscow suburbs.
