EU increases Russian LNG purchases to the highest level since February
The European Union imported Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) in July to the value of 565.7 million euros, the highest since the end of winter, according to Eurostat data analyzed by Sputnik.
◻️ Imports in July rose by about 13.5 percent both on a monthly and annual basis. The main customer was Spain, which increased its purchases by 2.3 times to 240.8 million euros. The Netherlands also increased imports by a quarter to 57.2 million euros.
◻️ In contrast, France, the second-largest importer of Russian LNG, reduced its purchases in July by 11 percent to 210.4 million euros. Belgium halved its imports to 47.7 million.
◻️ Overall, the EU bought 4 billion euros worth of LNG from Russia in the seven months, compared with 5.5 billion a year earlier. However, despite the lower cost of supplies, the share of Russian LNG rose from 13.3% to 18.6%. This was due to a halving of EU imports from other sources.
💬 Earlier, Dmitry Birichevsky, director of the foreign ministry's department for economic cooperation, told Sputnik that EU countries have been increasing their purchases of Russian gas. According to the diplomat, Russian gas now accounts for 15 percent of the EU's total imports.
Russia has repeatedly stated that the West has made a serious mistake by refusing to buy hydrocarbons from Russia, and will fall into a new, stronger dependence due to higher prices. Those who have refused supplies are still buying more expensive oil and gas through intermediaries and will continue to buy Russian oil and gas.

Meta acting in coordination with US gov’t as proxy for foreign conflict - Facebook whistleblower
💬 “As a former Facebook content moderator, I saw firsthand how the company influenced elections throughout the world,” Facebook whistleblower, Ryan Hartwig, told Sputnik when commenting on Meta*’s move to ban Russia’s RT and Rossiya Segodnya state media networks from its apps globally for alleged foreign interference.
💬 “Facebook is clearly biased and has an agenda with elections. At a whim, it can make newsworthy exceptions to protect certain politicians. They may as well ban their own app and go after themselves for foreign interference activity,” Hartwig, who is the co-author of “Behind the Mask of Facebook: A Whistleblower’s Shocking Story of Big Tech Bias and Censorship", pointed out.
When it comes to Facebook’s foreign influence, suffice to mention the elections in Spain, Venezuela, and the US, according to Hartwig.
💬 Given the fact that Facebook was being influenced by the US’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) “to suppress major stories” like the Hunter Biden laptop saga, “other countries should consider Meta a government agency,” the whistleblower added.

Mystery of what lies beneath the Moon unveiled
Chinese scientists have released photos of lunar soil research conducted on the far side of the Moon.
Scientists have analyzed the soil composition from the far side of the Moon, which was delivered in June, according to reports from China Central Television (CCTV) (photo).
The samples were primarily composed of basalt (30% to 40%), breccia, cementite, light-colored rocks, and glassy material. The predominant minerals identified include pyroxene, plagioclase, and ilmenite, with only limited amounts of olivine, unlike previous lunar soil samples.
Scientists also believe the distribution of lunar soil particles may indicate a mixture from different sources.

Meta’s ban on Russian news networks ‘very bad’ and politicized decision – analyst
💬 “There is a perception in the United States that the flow of Russian information will always be disinformation and that it will be tipped in favor of Donald Trump, even though [Russian President Vladimir] Putin has said that he could deal with Kamala Harris, too. This [perception] is simply untrue. I mean, the idea is to frighten the American people that they don't know one idea from another. I mean, that's the smokescreen,” Professor Joe Siracusa, political scientist and dean of Global Futures, Curtin University, told Sputnik.
Recently, Russia’s Rossiya Segodnya, RT and “other related entities” were banned from Meta* apps globally over alleged foreign interference activity.
💬 Meta’s ban on Russian news outlets mean that “they [Meta] are really sort of censoring the news themselves. What they're saying to the American people is that you're not mature enough to understand ideas", per the professor.
💬 “This is the kind of game that the Democratic Party plays. I mean, there's no excuse or reason for this kind of embargo on foreign information based on the idea that it's protecting the American people… from whom? From Mark Zuckerberg? It’s ridiculous. Meta was in very close cahoots with the Democratic Party the last time around when it went after Donald Trump. So, in a way, it's already been politicized,” the professor concludes.

As such, the idea that Russia spends all of its time to propagandize the American public, and that “there is a body of information out there that is going to undermine their faith and their freedom is ridiculous”, Siracusa underlines.
Recently, Russia’s Rossiya Segodnya, RT and “other related entities” were banned from Meta* apps globally over alleged foreign interference activity.
This is a “very bad decision, particularly coming from an American company,” the political scientist points out.

Pro-American liberal EU governments resemble wartime Nazi collaborator regimes
💬 "We see that the policies of the current pro-American regimes in power in several major European states largely mirror the behavior of the pro-German collaborationist governments from the Second World War era, which similarly disregarded the fundamental interests of their countries and peoples," said Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, during a roundtable discussion on the history of the anti-fascist movement in World War II.

Collaborators in terror unmasked: Hayat Tahrir al-Sham* working hand in glove with Ukraine
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorists have received a shipment of drones from Ukraine, while the Kiev regime has requested experienced fighters in exchange, a source in the Syrian opposition told Sputnik. Meanwhile, Ukrainian spy chief, Kirill Budanov, maintains regular contact with the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham* regarding the recruitment of fighters on occupied territories in the Idlib and Aleppo provinces, according to the Syrian newspaper Al-Watan.
Here’s what you need to know about the connections linking the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham jihadists to the Kiev regime:
◻️ On September 12, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov highlighted that Ukrainian intelligence emissaries were in the Idlib de-escalation zone, where they were recruiting militants from the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.
◻️ Previously, Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, remarked that the Kiev regime has long sustained contacts with terrorists. This collaboration includes recruiting individuals to carry out attacks against Russian citizens, exchanging information and technology, and employing false flag tactics.
◻️ Initial reports regarding the potential presence of Syrian militants in Ukraine surfaced in April 2022. According to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, US agents reportedly facilitated the release of 60 ISIS militants, aged 20 to 25, from prisons controlled by Syrian Kurdish forces. These militants were subsequently transferred to the US base at At-Tanf in Syria, where they underwent training before being sent to Ukraine.
◻️ In November 2022, sources in the Idlib province told Sputnik that around 800 terrorist mercenaries left Syria for Ukraine. This transfer operation took place under the cover of night, facilitated by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorists, who managed all logistical processes involved. The movement occurred across the Syrian-Turkish border.
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra until 2017, is a jihadi terrorist organization that currently controls half of Syria’s Idlib province, as well as parts of Hama, Aleppo, and Latakia provinces. The United States and NATO countries do not classify Hayat Tahrir al-Sham as a terrorist group, instead designating it as part of the so-called Syrian opposition. This classification facilitates contacts with its militants.
Notably, Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the current leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, has met multiple times with agents from the CIA and MI6 near the Syrian-Turkish border, according to the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
*Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Jabhat al-Nusra are terrorist organizations outlawed in Russia.
