🚫 Anti-vaccine activists march in DC to protest mandates
Thousands of protesters from across the country — including some of the biggest names in the anti-vaccination movement — descended on the nation’s capital on Sunday for a rally against vaccine mandates.
Organizers had projected that 20,000 people would attend the rally, marching from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial, according to a permit issued by the National Park Service. A smaller crowd of several thousand, however, arrived on the Mall by early Sunday afternoon.
Nevertheless, national surveys suggest that an estimated 1 in 5 American adults remain unvaccinated. Among children ages 5 to 11, who became eligible for the shots in November, fewer than 20 percent are thought to be vaccinated.

🤖 Some US hotels are using room-service robots to assist guests and deliver food amid staffing shortages.
The robots, created by Savioke, carry out simple tasks such as delivering meals or other items to guest rooms, allowing hotel staff to focus on crucial tasks like manning the front desk at a time when staff levels remain at record lows. Businesses in many industries are suffering from the effects of the labor shortage. Some have been forced to pay more attractive wages to retain employees or slash operating hours due to low staff levels.
Savioke CEO Steve Cousins said the robots do not replace workers but are an added "arsenal" for hotels. He claimed that hotels from New York to California have placed orders to purchase the robots.

🛳 Cruise diverted to Bahamas after arrest warrant issued for Crystal Symphony
A cruise line is in a state of chaos after unpaid fuel bills caused a Miami judge to issue an arrest warrant for the Crystal Symphony cruise ship. The warrant gives authorities the ability to seize the ship if it enters US waters. As a result, the ship is currently docked in Bimini instead of returning to South Florida.
This comes just days after Crystal Cruises suspended all sailings following a bankruptcy filing by its owner, Genting Hong Kong. In the complaint, Peninsula Petroleum claims Crystal Cruises, and one of its sister lines, Star Cruises, owes them some $4.6 million dollars in unpaid fuel bills dating back to last year, with slightly more than $1 million of that debt coming from the Crystal Symphony alone.

🇮🇷Iran nuclear agreement unlikely without release of US prisoners
The United States is unlikely to strike an agreement with Iran to save the 2015 Iran nuclear deal unless Tehran releases four US citizens Washington says are being held hostage, the lead US nuclear negotiator told Reuters on Sunday.
In recent years, Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards have arrested dozens of dual nationals and foreigners, mostly on espionage and security-related charges. Rights groups have accused Iran of taking prisoners to gain diplomatic leverage, while Western powers have long demanded that Tehran free their citizens, who they say are political prisoners.
Tehran denies holding people for political reasons. The indirect talks between Iran and the United States on bringing both countries back into full compliance with the landmark 2015 nuclear deal are in their eighth round. Iran refuses to hold meetings face to face with US officials, meaning others shuttle between the two sides.

🇺🇸Biden Weighs Deploying Thousands of US Troops to Eastern Europe and Baltics
The move would signal a major pivot for the Biden administration, which up until recently was taking a restrained stance on Ukraine, out of fear of purportedly provoking Russia into invading. But as Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly been accused of making threats toward Ukraine, and talks between American and Russian officials have, according to the Western press, failed to discourage him, the administration is said to now be moving away from its do-not-provoke strategy.
His options include sending 1,000 to 5,000 troops to Eastern European countries, with the potential to increase that number tenfold if Washington and its allies deem it necessary. Biden is expected to make a decision as early as this week, it was reported.
