🇺🇲 US, Japan & South Korea meet in Hawaii to discuss North Korea
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met his Japanese and South Korean counterparts on Saturday in Hawaii to discuss the threat posed by a nuclear-armed North Korea after Pyongyang began the year with a series of missile tests.
Blinken said at a news conference following the meeting that the DPRK was “in a phase of provocation” and the three countries condemned the recent missile launches.
Pyongyang has rebuffed offers from the Biden administration to resume diplomacy, declaring that it won’t return to talks unless Washington drops what North Korea characterizes as hostile policies. Japan’s Foreign Ministry said they reaffirmed the importance of cooperating with the United States to respond to North Korea and to achieve regional stability.

🚨 Kodak Black reportedly among 4 shot outside Super Bowl party
Four people were shot and wounded early Saturday after a fight broke out outside a Los Angeles restaurant hosting a party that followed a Justin Bieber concert, police said.
The gunfire erupted outside The Nice Guy restaurant, striking and injuring four men ages 60, 22, 20 and 19, LAPD Officer Lizeth Lomeli said. Their names were not released, but NBC News reported rapper Kodak Black was among the wounded. Detectives asked witnesses to come forward to help them identify the gunman.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin, Drake, Khloe Kardashian and Tobey Maguire were also among the celebrities seen entering the afterparty.

Republican state lawmakers across the U.S. are trying to require schools to post all course materials online so parents can review them, part of a broader national push by the GOP for a sweeping parents bill of rights ahead of the midterm congressional elections.
Other state considering some version of the idea include Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina and West Virginia.
Parents also could file complaints about certain lessons and in some cases sue school districts. Teachers say parents already have easy access to what their children learn. They worry that the mandates would create an unnecessary burden and potentially threaten their professional independence — all while dragging them into a culture war.
Scott DiMauro, president of Ohio’s largest teachers union, is concerned that such bills will add to the spike in resignations and retirements triggered by the stress of teaching in the COVID-19 era.

This week, Facebook parent company Meta told Reuters and NBC News that it had recently removed several “trucker convoy” groups and pages run from actors in Vietnam, Bangladesh, Romania and other countries.
The company said it would continue to monitor the situation. “We continue to see scammers latch onto any hot-button issue that draws people’s attention, including the ongoing protests."
According to NBC News, anti-vaccine groups in the US plan to stage similar protests in cities across the country. On Facebook, Telegram, and voice chat app Zello, groups have called on members to travel to Washington, DC, and Los Angeles on March 5th.

Intel is investing in blockchain technology with a new chip designed to mine cryptocurrency. The company is focusing on sustainability, and plans on “developing the most energy-efficient computing technologies at scale.”
Intel’s first crypto-focused chip, which it calls a “blockchain accelerator” is set to ship later this year. Two companies have already preordered the technology, including Bitcoin mining company GRIID Infrastructures and Block, the Jack Dorsey-owned fintech company formerly known as Square.
The environmental impact of cryptocurrency mining has become a huge concern, and Intel’s new chip may be an attempt to address that. Power-hungry mining rigs often get their energy from coal and natural gas plants that can harm the environment, and can also contribute to high electricity costs and blackouts.

It's a sign of both distress and progress: As millennials created a new version of the American dream, the single life has become more socially acceptable — and preferable for many. But while stigmas have shifted, the economic system that incentivizes marriage hasn't.
The costs of being single show up in everything from social life to the tax code, housing, and health insurance. The declining affordability due to today's housing crisis could also undo progress women have made toward homeownership.

Earlier reports revealed that the rapper was at odds with the NFL over his desire to kneel “Colin Kaepernick-style” during the Super Bowl 2022 halftime show. However, as the broadcast would later show, Eminem ultimately chose to defy NFL organizers.
And still, the award-winning musician wasn’t alone in his endeavors. While organizers had raised concerns over Snoop Dogg’s wardrobe over a potential gang affiliation, he still appeared in the ever-classic, blue bandana-inspired garb.
Then there’s the matter of lyrics in a classic Dr. Dre song. Beyond not wanting cursing, the league was said to have been uncomfortable with a verse in “Still D.R.E.” — “still not loving police” — because it did not want this performance to be a “divisive culture war moment.” And yet, seems that NFL line was crossed, too.

Multiple live-action TV shows that tell stories set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are leaving Netflix at the end of February. The list includes all of the Defenders shows: So, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron First, The Punisher, and The Defenders. But Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the network series whose existence predates the Defenders, is also leaving at the same time.
The shows were originally created as part of a deal that made Netflix the distributor of Disney's MCU-connected serial programming. But all of that came to an end in 2018 when Netflix's Marvel productions were all canceled as Disney prepped for the 2019 launch of its own streaming Netflix competitor: Disney+.
