🎞 Marvel's 'Daredevil' and other live-action shows are leaving Netflix thins month

Multiple live-action TV shows that tell stories set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are leaving Netflix at the end of February. The list includes all of the Defenders shows: So, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron First, The Punisher, and The Defenders. But Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the network series whose existence predates the Defenders, is also leaving at the same time.

The shows were originally created as part of a deal that made Netflix the distributor of Disney's MCU-connected serial programming. But all of that came to an end in 2018 when Netflix's Marvel productions were all canceled as Disney prepped for the 2019 launch of its own streaming Netflix competitor: Disney+.

💔 ATF: Report your ex for illegal guns on Valentine's Day

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) suggested that Americans report their current and former partners' alleged "illegal gun activity" to the agency as a "fun" Valentine's Day activity.

The ATF posted the tweet Monday morning as Americans began their celebration of the day of love. While the tweet appears to have been an attempt at humor, critics worried that the ATF's invitation could lead to jilted exes and significant others frivolously reporting their partners to the agency.

🏛Gun control groups press Biden to do more to stop the violence.

Four years after 17 people were gunned down at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, families and gun control advocates are pressing President Joe Biden to do more to address gun violence.

In his first year in office, Biden’s efforts to pass legislation to tighten gun laws haven’t left the drawing board. He also was forced to pull his nominee to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

Since the Parkland shooting left 14 students and three staff members dead, gun violence at schools has only risen. There were at least 136 instances of gunfire on school grounds between Aug. 1 and Dec. 31, according to a tally last week by the gun control advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety.

🥑 The US suspends avocado imports from Mexico over ‘threatening’ phone calls.

US authorities suspended avocado imports from Mexico just hours before the Super Bowl — a decision made after an American plant safety inspector supposedly received a threatening phone call.

The officials added that the US Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is investigating the threat and determining potential safety measures to protect workers.

The shutdown on imports occurred as avocados surged to their highest price on record ahead of the Super Bowl — a traditionally highest single day of demand for guacamole.
