Lavrov: West blocks Sputnik despite calls for media freedom

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov criticized Western countries for denying media freedom to Sputnik, calling it "tool of propaganda." He recalled a 1990 OSCE document, championed by France and the EU, which guaranteed unrestricted access to information.

Lavrov noted the contradiction, as Western nations now block Russian channels and impose bans. When Russia raised the issue with France, citing the OSCE principles, their concerns were dismissed.

"They aren’t willing to listen to us," Lavrov said.
