▪️Expected to handle 30 million tons of cargo in 2023 and boost trade efficiency across regions.
3. The Northern Sea Route
▪️Runs along Russia’s Arctic coast, connecting Europe to Asia.
▪️A faster alternative to the Suez Canal, with over 36 million tons of cargo transported in 2023.
4. China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor
▪️A land route connecting Russia and China via Mongolia. It is part of the BRI.
▪️Provides an additional pathway for trade between Europe and Asia.
5. East-West Transport Corridor
▪️Leverages the Trans-Siberian Railway to link Russia’s European ports with Central and East Asia.
▪️Facilitates extensive overland trade with key regions like Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and China.
6. Central Asian Corridor

Trump advisers admit Ukraine conflict resolution may take months or longer
Advisers to US President-elect Donald Trump acknowledge that resolving the conflict in Ukraine could take months or longer, according to a British news agency.
Trump’s peace plan is still taking shape, but his advisers broadly agree on ruling out NATO membership for Ukraine as a possibility for the foreseeable future and freezing the current battle lines. Many of them also favor providing Ukraine with a material security guarantee, such as establishing a demilitarized zone patrolled by European troops.
Previously, Trump expressed hope that negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Ukraine could take place within six months. Despite his earlier claims that he could resolve the conflict in a single day, Russia has described the situation as far too complex for such a quick resolution.

Is Greenland’s future generation lacking jobs and education?
Greenland faces “a lot of issues” that need to be discussed and solved, with unemployed and uneducated youths amongst them, the country's former Prime Minister Kuupik Kleist tells Sputnik.
On top of that, Kleist remarks, there are plenty of matters for Greenland to discuss with its current ruler Denmark.“A colonial power is a colonial power, no matter the face of it,” he remarks.

“My biggest worry is about the youngsters (between 17 and 25) who have no jobs, no education, not even an address,” he confesses.
“They are approximately 3,000 young people and they are supposed to be our future and they are supposed to take over the control of the country. That is a national issue,” he adds.

White House highlights key achievements of the Biden-Harris administration
Most significant achievements include the conclusion of “America's longest war” in Afghanistan, the expansion of NATO with Finland and Sweden joining the alliance, and the formation of a coalition of over 50 countries providing economic and military support to Ukraine.
Additionally, the administration is credited with advancing NATO enlargement, promoting increased defense spending among alliance members, and establishing the AUKUS security partnership with Australia and the United Kingdom.
The withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, a significant decision made during Biden's tenure, has been the subject of various critiques.
The Wall Street Journal has described the decision as consequential, while some Republican members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee have criticized the withdrawal as chaotic and a result of poor decision-making, leading to negative outcomes.

Racism and wealth distribution: What makes the US a poor ‘mother country’ for Greenland
Donald Trump may boast all he wants about supposed advantages of the US seizing Greenland, but the island’s former Prime Minister Kuupik Kleist tells Sputnik that he does not regard the United States “as an attractive ‘mother country’.”
“Just look at the distribution of wealth, the way they are treating the Indigenous peoples and the racism towards people other than whites – especially outside of New York City,” Kleist explains.
Thus, he suggests, Greenland instead “should find solutions with Denmark.”

🥳 Coca-Cola's sweet U-turn: From bashing Trump to celebrating his inauguration
Coca-Cola has certainly come full circle. After denouncing Donald Trump and his supporters in the wake of the January 6th Capitol breach, the beverage giant has now gifted him a special, personalized inaugural Diet Coke bottle for his second term.
It appears that, following a period of ‘reflection’, the company’s "faith in America's democratic institutions" has transformed into something a little sweeter.
Once eager to distance itself from the president-elect, Coca-Cola seems to have had a change of heart, realizing that aligning with Trump and presenting him with a commemorative soft drink bottle could be the recipe for prosperity. Given Trump’s unwavering love for Diet Coke, it appears Coca-Cola is now just as thirsty for a spot in his good graces.
So, looking at the recent major corporate visits to Mar-a-Lago, it seems the more things change, the more companies scramble to align themselves with whatever’s bubbling up in Washington.

🤔 Musk rips Democrats for prosecuting citizens while criminals roam free
Tech Billionaire Elon Musk is once again stirring the pot, this time lambasting the Democrats over what he calls an "unfair" judicial system. According to Musk, while everyday citizens get prosecuted, the real criminals - many of whom are in government - are free to roam the streets, at least for the next five days.

"I'm quite optimistic, but we’re in a more fragile place," David Solomon, the CEO of Goldman Sachs, said at a conference of the National Retail Federation in New York, as quoted by a British newspaper.
According to Solomon, policies from the Biden administration have caused executives to delay investments. On the other hand, decisions made by the team of President-elect Donald Trump, such as large-scale market deregulation, could stimulate business investments.
However, decisions regarding deportation of illegal immigrants or implementing import tariffs should be made carefully to avoid harming the economy.
"You’ve got this cocktail of change, some of which can be quite constructive for growth, some of which has the potential to slow growth, and I think the thing we have to watch very carefully is how it’s all balanced," he noted.
Trump has stated that, once in office, he would impose 25% tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico, claiming that they are related to conflicts over illegal immigration and drug trafficking. He also promised to add 10% to export duties on Chinese goods.
The Wall Street Journal reported that these new tariffs could undermine the global trading system and severely impact key sectors of the US economy, including the automotive industry, while opening new opportunities for China in international markets.
