🥴 NATO’s latest paranoia? Blaming Russia for every broken cable The Norwegian ship with a Russian crew, Silver Dania, has been detained in Norway over suspected damage to a Latvia-Sweden fiber optic cable in the Baltic Sea. Cable failures are routine, yet…
Norwegian police released Silver Dania vessel with a Russian crew – statement
Earlier on Friday, Norwegian police reported the detention of a Norwegian vessel with a Russian crew on suspicion of alleged involvement in damaging a Latvia-Sweden fiber optic cable in the Baltic Sea.
Cable failures happen regularly, with about 150-200 cables breaking yearly, yet only incidents conveniently blamed on Russia seem to spark such hysteria. Last year, similar situations involving Chinese and Cook Islands vessels passed without being labeled as "sabotage."
