❗️The Russian Ambassador in Ottawa, Oleg Stepanov, told Sputnik that his meeting with Canada's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marta Morgan was a "political demarche."

Earlier on Tuesday, Stepanov was invited to Global Affairs Canada for a meeting with Morgan following Moscow’s decision to recognise the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.

Stepanov went on to say that he stated Russia’s position and its perception of the situation. Russia’s decision came after the situation on the line of contact between Ukraine and the breakaway republics significantly worsened.

🐝 Beekeepers using tracking devices to protect valuable hives

Beekeepers
in the United States truck billions of honeybees to California, renting them to almond growers who need the insects to pollinate the state’s most profitable crop.

But as almond trees start to bloom, blanketing entire valleys in white and pink flowers, so begin the beehive thefts that have become so prevalent that beekeepers are now turning to GPS tracking devices, surveillance cameras and other anti-theft technology.

In the past few weeks, 1,036 beehives worth hundreds of thousands of dollars were reported stolen from orchards statewide. The largest heist involved 384 beehives that were taken from a field in Mendocino County.

The state government is funding $15 million toward the effort, calling it an investment in “climate smart agriculture.”

If there was ever any doubt about just how much of a threat TikTok poses to Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg recently cleared things up when he cited the competitor as the reason Facebook lost users for the first time ever.

Now, the company is ready to push its TikTok clone into more parts of its social network as it tries to counter those declines. To further incentive Reels creators, Facebook is also making monetization features available to more people.

Reels will be available as a standalone feature on Facebook in more than 150 countries. The expansion will be a major test for the company, which has made competing with TikTok and luring more young adults to its platform a top priority.

GM is shutting down its in-car shopping app

GM has told its customers it's shutting down the Marketplace app, which allowed drivers to pay for goods and services through the infotainment system. The app, which arrived in 2017, let them buy things like gas and coffee and make hotel and restaurant reservations via the dashboard. The company will wind down Marketplace starting in March.

The automaker brought the app to millions of its vehicles in the US, but it seems drivers didn't really take to it. According to CNBC, an engineer said that after the feature launched, the active user rates were in the "thousands."
