The claims appear in the museum's "Seeing Things Queerly" guide, which states that Lego bricks are "often described in a gendered way" with specific parts being labeled as male or female.

"The Science Museum's self-guided trail on all things 'queer' is completely bonkers and includes some absurd claims," said Fiona McAnena, director of a women's rights campaign group.

Ian Blatchford, who leads the Science Museum Group, also spoke out against “woke” causes and warned that cancel culture was the enemy of the culture sector, saying museums must “steer clear of political activism.”
