EXPOSED: Georgian mercs trained in UK before unleashing atrocities in Russia's Kursk
Members of the Georgian Legion*, a part of the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate International Legion, committed crimes against locals in the village of Russkoye Porechnoye shortly after infiltrating into the Kursk region. Before the incursion, they had trained at one of the UK’s military bases, Sputnik has discovered.
◾️Georgian mercenary Giorgi Partsvania, who claims to be in the Kursk region, recently shared footage from a training camp in the UK. He announced via social media that his training had concluded on April 17 (see photo 1) and shared a video featuring UK officers saluting him as he departs (see video 1).
◾️On Thursday, a Georgian pro-Western media outlet called Mtavari posted a video of "Georgians fighting on the Ukrainian side in the Kursk region, Russia (photo 2)”. The clip was produced by Partsvania.
◾️A photo of him demonstrating the Georgian flag was posted on the same day by one of the Georgian Legion's founders, Vano Nadiradze. In the comments section, he boasts that the “Georgian flag [is] on Russian territory,” (photo 3).
The Georgian “gun for hire” also shared a video, which he claimed was filmed from positions in the Kursk region, alongside other mercenaries (see Video 2).
◾️Earlier, the website US War Zone reported that approximately 120 members of the Georgian Legion were involved in the attacks on the Kursk region.
◾️According to national legislation, Georgia’s citizens can face criminal charges for participating in illegal military formations outside the country. In 2023, the Georgian Security Service officially accused Mamulashvili, commander of the Georgian Legion, of plotting a political coup in the Caucasusian country. Intelligence officials claimed that Mamulashvili and his co-conspirators intended to carry out their plot with the assistance of a significant number of young Georgians fighting in Ukraine.
