'It's like a monster would do this'

Detroit police have arrested two teenagers in connection with the brutal killing of three family members. One of the victims, a 5-year-old boy, was reportedly shot in the face twice.

Two other victims turned out to be the boy's mother and her boyfriend. They were reportedly discovered on Sunday by a relative, who visited the family's home after not hearing from them for weeks.

The boy, 5-year-old Caleb Harris, was shot two times in the face, his grandmother, Shalesa Floyd, was quoted by media outlets as saying.

"To do this – it's like a monster would do this", the grandmother reportedly said.

⚡️ German fund created to protect Nord Stream 2 from US sanctions withdraws support for project

⚡️ The Biden administration is expected to announce today that it will allow sanctions on the company constructing the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, CNN reports, citing officials.

It comes after Germany halted certification of the project in response to Russia recognizing the Donbas republics as independent.

The list of those sanctioned includes 351 Russian lawmakers, as well as 27 citizens and organisations.

🇺🇸🇺🇳 An escalation in Ukraine may create the worst refugee crisis in the world today, with some 5 million people possibly displaced, US envoy to the UN says.

"If Russia continues down this path, it could, according to our estimates, create a new refugee crisis, one of the largest facing the world today, with as many as 5 million more people displaced by Russia's war of choice and putting pressure on Ukraine’s neighbors," Linda Thomas-Greenfield claimed.

Since Ukraine is among the world's largest wheat suppliers, the conflict could also cause a spike in food prices and lead to even more desperate hunger in places like Libya, Yemen, and Lebanon, she added.
