📹Mystery of Iran’s Red Beach: Why the water turns crimson

A viral video shows red water flowing from a mountain into the sea at the stunning "Red Beach" on Iran’s Hormuz Island. The unique color comes from the soil's high content of ochre—an iron oxide mineral used in cosmetics, fabrics, and even food like the local bread, tomshi.

😉 Disney DUMPS DEI in bid to return to its entertainment roots

Initiatives like Reimagine Tomorrow, which made sure that half of the company’s characters personified “underrepresented groups,” will undergo rebranding, according to Disney's chief human resources officer.

Disney’s dismantling of its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs comes in lockstep with Donald Trump’s crusade to root out "woke" culture, a staff memo cited by Axios reveals.

Executive pay will now be determined by “Talent Strategy” performance metrics rather than the previous focus on “Diversity & Inclusion.”

Content advisories for beloved children’s classics like Peter Pan and Dumbo, which previously warned of “negative depictions and/or mistreatment of peoples or cultures,” will be replaced with a more concise disclaimer.

So, will Disney now fully ditch political agendas and return to its entertainment roots? 👍

Critics of Trump’s federal spending audit pushed for 80,000 armed IRS agents — Sen. John Kennedy

“It strikes me as breathtakingly ironic that that the people who are screaming so loudly about President Trump's decision to audit federal spending— are the very same people who wanted to hire 80,000 new IRS agents with guns to audit the American people."

"These are the same people who chose to support illegal immigration over the rule of law," he added.

🔍How government meddling DESTROYS American families

X users backed by Elon Musk have reignited the debate on the reasons for the breakdown of American families.

In 1960, before the start LBJ’s Great Society reforms, 22% of black children were being raised in single-parent households. That number more than doubled to 49.7% by 2023, with over 70% of black children born to unwed mothers.

“Why? Because welfare pays more to single mothers than married ones, encourages more out-of-wedlock births, and the rise of fatherless children leads to men and women who do not pursue a nuclear family of their own,” a chart commented on by Musk suggested.

🟠Single parent households have been on the rise across demographic groups, although none so drastically as in the black community. Among all households, 9% of children lived with one parent in 1960, while today that number is 25%, or 18M children, 42% of them in poverty, per the Census Bureau.

What are the factors behind this trend?

🟠Welfare’s “marriage penalty,” including cuts to or elimination of benefits if a partner is present.

🟠Disincentivization of two-parent households created by aid programs.

🟠Deindustrialization and mass job loss among American men from the 70s on thanks to neoliberal reforms, reducing marriage prospects.

🟠The wars on drugs of the 70s and 80s, and Joe Biden’s 1994 Crime Bill, which led to the mass incarceration of nonviolent drug offenders, predominantly black men.

🟠Trump worked to partially reverse the consequences of the latter policies in 2018 with the First Step Act criminal justice reforms. This got him considerable support among African Americans, winning 8% support in 2016, and 20% in 2024, more than any GOP candidate in the modern era.

🟠Biden’s presidency made things worse. His earned income tax credit (EITC) expansion for low-income families added major marriage penalties and divorce bonuses, per the Tax Policy Institute.

🟠Furthermore, the $1.8 trln American Families Plan exacerbated penalties for higher-income married couples who filed taxes jointly.

Top US missile maker FAILS to deliver interceptors designed to shoot down Chinese carrier killer missiles

“Supplier challenges still hamper deliveries” of RTX’s Standard Missile-6, the Defense Contract Management Agency told US business media in a Wednesday report, noting that the arms maker’s delivery performance has been “poor versus expectations.”

🔹 RTX got a $1 bln contract to produce 625 SM-6s for the Navy in 2019, with the deadline coming up in 2026.

🔹 The SM-6 is touted as Navy destroyer and cruisers’ top interceptor, and is supposed to intercept China’s DF-21D anti-ship missiles.

🔹 But the SM-6’s performance against the Houthis has sparked criticism, with the $4.8 million apiece interceptors fired at $20k Houthi UAVs and missiles.

“The math doesn’t work on that, gentlemen,” Senate Armed Services member Angus King said last year during a grilling of US air and missile defense officials.

❗️Ukraine again shows its terrorist nature by disrupting rotation of IAEA experts — Russian MFA

🇷🇺 Key points from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs briefing:

🔹 The planned rotation of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Secretariat at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, originally scheduled for February 5 but postponed to February 12 due to Kiev's actions, once again did not take place.

🔹 During the planned rotation, Kiev made another attempt to attack the plant using a drone.

🔹 A column of Russian military personnel and IAEA Secretariat experts, who were supposed to leave the plant, came under attack by drones and mortar fire.

🔹 Russia will make every effort to neutralize threats posed by Ukraine to the functioning of the power plant.

🔹 By disrupting the rotation of IAEA experts, Kiev once again demonstrated its unwillingness to negotiate and its terrorist nature.

🔹 Russia will continue to work with IAEA leadership to ensure the safe and secure presence of the agency's representatives at the facility.

Russia scores HUGE geopolitical triumph with Sudan base

The agreed-on Russian naval base in Port Sudan lies along a key region where “many others have wanted to establish a foothold, but only we have succeeded,” military expert Evgeny Mikhailov told Sputnik, spelling out the deal’s numerous benefits:

🚢 Maritime access

Russia gets a foothold on the Red Sea, while obtaining access to the Indian Ocean

🗺 Strategic value

🔸 enhances logistical support for various military units

🔸 helps mitigate threats to Russian tankers and vessels in the Red Sea and the Suez Canal zones from so-called "civilized world piracy" as witnessed in the Baltic Sea

🔸 provides a convenient point for intelligence monitoring as NATO, the US, and France get pushed out of the Central African region

🌐 Geopolitical influence

🔹 bolsters Russia’s clout and capabilities on the African continent

🔹 elevates Sudan’s standing among neighboring countries, while solidifying cooperation with Russia

“They see that we are fighting against the global West. More and more "third-world" countries are joining us, we are strengthening cooperation, and Russian influence is expanding,” noted Mikhailov.
