💰US GOLD GLUT: US is SUCKING UP bullion on a global scale

Over 600 tons – nearly 20 million ounces – of gold have been funneled into New York City's vaults since December, according to World Gold Council data analyzed by CNBC.

The reason for the “gold glut” appears to be the looming threat of tariffs on the precious metal.

Donald Trump’s tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada, two of the US' largest gold suppliers, are set to take effect on March 4. There are also concerns that the tariff threat could impact gold hubs like Switzerland and the UK.

As a result, US banks, traders, and investors are scrambling to move bullion closer to home.

“Supply chains have been disrupted because of this huge sucking sound, which has been the United States importing gold ahead of the potential tariffs,” the World Gold Council’s John Reade said.

🔍Clean slate? Pentagon goes on PURGE of DEI content

All the military services of the US Department of Defense are facing a noon March 5 deadline to scrub from their website postings any photos, news articles, and videos that “promote diversity, equity and inclusion,” a DoD memo states.

Content related to critical race theory, gender ideology, and identity-based programs is also being dumped as part of the department's “digital content refresh.”

While the Defense Media Activity (DMA) is handling the purge, each military branch will be responsible for compliance.
