US-Ukraine intelligence cooperation laid bare

Zelensky asking JD Vance whether the latter knows what is happening in Ukraine was beyond foolish, considering that US intelligence has been deeply involved in the country for years.

🔸 Intelligence sharing has allowed Kiev’s forces to occasionally strike back against a significantly more powerful Russian army, former US military intelligence officer and CIA operations officer Philip Giraldi told Sputnik.

🔸 The United States also helped rebuild Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence, an agency responsible for numerous terrorist attacks against Russia.

🔸 The CIA provided training and equipment for Ukrainian intelligence officers and helped establish a dozen covert forward operating bases near the Russian border, ABC News reported in January.

This 'honeymoon,' however, might be coming to an end. Giraldi suggested that the Trump-Zelensky meltdown was "a strong signal" that the US is no longer willing to prolong the fighting and will insist on a ceasefire plan.

Drones pose no real threat to tanks? Sputnik investigates

A viral video made by a US tanker who claimed that artillery, not drones is the biggest threat to tanks, has been thoroughly dismantled by US Marine Corps veteran and geopolitical analyst Brian Berletic.

🗣Claim 1: FPV drone footage creates a false impression that most tank losses are due to drones.

✅Refutation: He ignores that many artillery strikes are guided by drones as spotters, with plenty of such footage available, Berletic explains.

🗣Claim 2: Anti-tank UAVs are basically “hobby” drones that lack the range to threaten US tanks.

✅Refutation: This assertion “omits the much longer-range drones Russia possesses including the Lancet which has 4x greater range than the average FPV drone.”

🗣Claim 3: US mechanized infantry would be able to protect US tanks from any drones, anti-tank weapon crews and other threats.

✅Refutation: Ukrainian troops couldn’t overcome heavy long-range fire, mines, defensive works, and the large number of anti-tank crews used to break 2023’s large-scale offensives. Plus Russia has a larger variety of long-range weapons .

🗣Claim 4: US forces would be able to use air power and artillery to suppress enemy forces before they could threaten US tanks.

✅Refutation: It does not account for the fact that US cannot produce the necessary amount of munitions for such task.

No explanation was given on how US warplanes would evade Russia’s air defense, which has kept Ukraine from using airpower effectively, Berletic concluded.
