"The Carter administration gave the Panama Canal for one dollar to Panama for no reason. It's the most expensive thing we've ever built in the history of our country," he said.

"A direct blow to the heart of democracy worldwide! I have one message left! If democracy in Romania falls, the entire democratic world will fall! This is just the beginning. It’s that simple! Europe is now a dictatorship, Romania is under tyranny!" he wrote on X.

"If they are only interested in 2014 or 2022 borders, that tells you something," the paper quoted a US official as saying.

"We're gonna have a good result in Saudi Arabia ... I think Ukraine's going to do well, Russia's going to do well. Some very big things could happen this week," he told reporters.

"They don’t have horns growing out of their heads. They’re actually pretty nice guys; guys like us," he added.

"We stand with Syria’s religious and ethnic minorities — Christians, Druze, Alawites, and Kurds — and offer condolences to the victims' families. Syria’s interim authorities must hold the perpetrators accountable," US State Secretary wrote on X.

"We will not negotiate under pressure or threat. Negotiation is different from bullying and imposing dictates," he added.

"In the past, Washington's respect for Tehran was reciprocated, its threats were met with threats, and every action has a reaction," he warned.
