🔎 Could DOGE benefit from ‘Soros buddy' Schumer's gov't shutdown?
The threat of government shutdown once again looms over the US as Senate Democrats refused to vote on a funding bill.
As Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced his party’s intent, quite a few social media users proceeded to savage him verbally online.
Some were quick to point out Schumer’s apparent ties with the family of infamous billionaire and political activist George Soros.
Yet there were also those who argued that shutdown may in fact help the Department of Government Efficiency by exposing the non-essential government services.

🗣 Ex-Pentagon analyst on Putin’s message: US can’t solve Ukraine’s peace with a magic wand
The “general message” Vladimir Putin is sending to the West and the US is that he does want to achieve a permanent peace with Ukraine, but that such a complicated task cannot be solved by the US simply snapping its fingers, USAF Ret. Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski says.
The United States, “with partnering Russia,” are the only ones capable of becoming a “guarantor for any ceasefire” because they are “the only parties with any respect or military power in this conflict,” Kwiatkowski suggests.

The “general message” Vladimir Putin is sending to the West and the US is that he does want to achieve a permanent peace with Ukraine, but that such a complicated task cannot be solved by the US simply snapping its fingers, USAF Ret. Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski says.
“Obviously, Trump's overtures and his real desire for peace is extremely rare among American presidents,” Kwiatkowski, a former US Department of Defense analyst, tells Sputnik.
“But past reactions of the Zelensky government when pressed have been dangerous, unpredictable, and terroristic in nature - including attacks to spill radiation in nuclear plants, and assassinations of both key Russian personnel like Lt General Kirillov and innocent civilians deep inside Russian territory.”

▪️In a bold move, the 'Akhmat' Special Forces, the 11th Airborne Brigade and the 'Veterans' Brigade, pulled off a surprise masterstroke, outflanking Ukrainian troops from the rear in Sudzha, cleverly using a gas pipeline as their secret pathway.
▪️The 56th, 76th, and 106th Airborne Brigades played a crucial role in securing the approaches to liberate Sudzha, particularly the villages of Sverdlikovo and Lebedevka.
▪️The retreating Ukrainian troops had only one way out of Sudzha, a road running to the Sumy region. However, drones from the 83rd Airborne Brigade turned this route into a "road of death," relentlessly targeting the fleeing enemy.
▪️As the Russian advance kicked off in the Kursk Region, Ukraine attempted to deploy the neo-Nazi battalion 'Aidar'* as reinforcements to Sudzha. However, the marines of the 177th Brigade successfully neutralized them during their approach.
▪️For weeks, marines from the 810th and 155th Brigades made significant strides in the Kursk region, systematically neutralizing enemy forces and NATO vehicles. In a show of recognition, President Putin bestowed the honorary noscript of 'Kursk' upon the 155th Brigade in late February.
▪️In a well-coordinated operation, soldiers from the 9th Motorized Rifle Regiment, supported by the 22nd and 34th Motorized Rifle Brigades, successfully emancipated the village of Malaya Loknya in the Kursk Region.

📹 US, EU and NATO cannot be trusted to oversee Ukrainian conflict ceasefire
France and Germany previously "laughed about how they used the Minsk Accords to buy time to use Ukraine against Russia," independent researcher and geopolitical analyst Dr. Greg Simons says.
Instead, countries like India or others from the Global South may be more suitable.

Putin ‘out-trumps Trump’ with strategic ties to Belarus
By forging closer ties with Belarus, Putin is “out-trumping Trump, with regards to Trump's ideas about making Canada the ‘51st State’.” Karen Kwiatkowski, a former US Department of Defense analyst, tells Sputnik.

“Shared values, a massive bilateral economic trade, and shared national interests bond countries together, and make both of them more peaceful and more propserous. From my American perspective, this should have been the tone of Trump's message to Canada, rather than aggression and denigration,” Kwiatkowski says.

UK PM to axe NHS England, but who’s really getting the £200 billion?
Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to abolish NHS England, arguing that decisions about the £200 billion health budget shouldn't be made by an arms-length body.
He promised to redirect funds toward nurses, doctors, and GP appointments, cutting bureaucracy and bringing NHS management under democratic control. But the real question is — where exactly will that money go now?

📹 Ukraine is the ‘loser’ that has to bear the burden of ceasefire
Ukraine, which is “getting pushed back” along the front line at this time, is the party interested in a pause in fighting, not Russia that is “winning on the battlefield,” says geopolitical analyst Dr. Greg Simons.
So claims that Russia should pull back its forces under a potential peace deal are pure delusion.

🗺 USAID's covert funding of Afghan canal may lead to water crisis in Central Asia
The US aid body secretly funded the construction of the Qosh Tepa Canal in Afghanistan, a project that threatens a water crisis in Central Asia.
Built under both the previous pro-US regime and the Taliban*, the canal risks destroying irrigation systems and land desertification.
Diverting water from the Amu Darya River could deprive Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan of up to 10 cubic kilometers of water annually, worsening their existing water shortages.
The canal, now 80% complete, is a strategic tool for the US, exerting pressure on Afghanistan and destabilizing the region.
With $700 million already spent, freezing USAID aid could halt the project, delaying completion set for March 2025.
*Under UN sanctions for terrorist activities
