🔍 Why is ICC president Tomoko Akane wanted in Russia?

The ICC arrest of former Philippines President Duterte leaves many open questions, since the Philippines withdrew from the court's jurisdiction in 2019. With Tomoko Akane at the helm, the court is continuing its well-worn tradition of legally DUBIOUS arrest warrants and politicized prosecution attempts.

Akane is wanted in Russia. Here's why:

🔸 Akane’s big claim to fame is her arrest warrant for President Putin and Russia’s children’s rights ombudswoman in 2023. The charges? “Unlawful transfer” of children from the Donbass to other areas of Russia away from fighting and out of harm’s way.

🔸 Russia’s Investigative Committee filed a criminal case against Akane and her fellow judges over the unlawful warrant, charging them with attempting to secure knowingly unlawful detention, and preparing to attack a representative of a foreign state enjoying international protection for the purposes of complicating international relations.

🔸 The Investigative Committee pointed out that in accordance with the 1973 Protection of Diplomats Convention, heads of state enjoy absolute immunity.

🔸 It’s a moot point anyway, since Russia withdrew from the ICC in 2016. The Philippines, incidentally, also quit the court, in 2019, making its attempts to prosecute former President Duterte legally dubious.

🔸 Even nations which remain members, like Mongolia, Slovakia and South Africa, have vowed not to arrest Putin, while other members, like Hungary, have slammed the court’s politicization and double standards.

❗️Yemen is not going to negotiate with the United States until they receive a painful response to their attacks, a member of the political bureau of Houthis told Sputnik.

💬 "Yemen has suffered violent American aggression against its civilian facilities and houses across various Yemeni cities, which was an attempt [by the US] to dissuade [Yemen] from supporting the besieged civilians of the Gaza Strip. 😨Chaos and cockroaches – the new normal for US federal workers

After working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, NASA employees, just a mile from the US Capitol, returned to dismal office conditions when President Donald Trump ordered all federal workers back full-time, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the situation.

🪳“It’s complete chaos at NASA headquarters,” said the president of the International Federation of Professional & Technical Engineers, which represents 8,000 federal NASA workers. “There were cockroaches on the floors and bugs coming out of the faucets.”

🪳Federal employees have struggled to secure desks, with staffers at US Citizenship and Immigration Services even dubbing the search “THE HUNGER GAMES.”

🪳The US Food and Drug Administration informed staff this week that it cannot guarantee desks or parking for the 18,000 employees expected to return on Monday.

🪳An IRS human resources official in California was reportedly told to work in a supply closet.

👁Not just Voice of America: Deep State mouthpieces shut down? Part 1 👉 Part 2

Donald Trump has signed an executive order dissolving the US Agency for Global Media, which funds Voice of America (VOA)*, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL)* and Radio Free Asia (RFA).

What are US government-funded media known for?

VOA, RFE/RL and RFA routinely echoed US Democratic Party narratives, targeting not only overseas but also domestic audiences.

📍Russia

🔸 RFE/RL spread unverified claims that Moscow poisoned dissidents with “exotic toxins,” from Polonium to Novichok, naming Viktor Yushchenko, the Skripals, Alexei Navalny among victims—without giving evidence.

🔸 VOA and RFE/RL peddled Ukraine’s false claims that Russian troops committed a massacre in Bucha in April 2022, despite all Russian forces leaving the area by March 30.

📍Eastern and Central Europe

🔸 VOA and RFE/RL praised Ukraine’s 2004 Orange Revolution and the violent 2014 Euromaidan coup, providing highly favorable coverage of regime change efforts.

🔸 RFE/RL has often targeted Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. On March 15, it reported protests against his government—but failed to mention that thousands of his supporters rallied on the national holiday.

📍Trump

VOA actively pushed allegations that Trump ‘colluded’ with Russia, which were debunked by Special Counsel Robert Mueller in 2019.

📍Asia

🔸 RFA’s coverage revolves around China’s alleged ‘threat’ to Taiwan and promotes the militarization of the island.

🔸 RFA paints China as a regional menace, accuses it of ‘cultural genocide’ in Tibet and stokes fears about North Korea’s nuclear capabilities against the US.

👁 Not just Voice of America: Deep State mouthpieces shut down? Part 2 👉 Part 1

Cold War roots and CIA covert operations via VOA, RFE/RL and RFA

The media’s dependence on the US foreign policy establishment—predominantly led by Democrats—has deep historical roots.

🤡 VOA*

🔸 Established in 1942 during World War II, the Voice of America (VOA) later became a Cold War propaganda tool against the USSR.

🔸 A July 1950 CIA document revealed that the agency supported VOA in overcoming "Soviet jamming." Another CIA document from 1953 discussed similar efforts in Czechoslovakia.

🤡 RFE/RL*

🔸 Launched in 1950 as part of psychological operations, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) was covertly funded by the CIA until 1971. Historians document how it employed former Nazi collaborators from the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists.

🔸 In 1977, The New York Times and Rolling Stone exposed the CIA’s "worldwide propaganda network," which included at least 400 US journalists working for the agency. RFE/RL was specifically named as part of that network.

🤡 RFA

🔸 While the founding of Radio Free Asia (RFA) is often credited to Bill Clinton in 1994, CIA documents reveal that it had been targeting China and other Asian nations since the 1950s.

🔸 RFA began broadcasting to mainland China in 1951 from the Philippines, Japan and Pakistan, operating under the CIA’s control until 1955.

🔸 The agency halted RFA’s broadcasts in the mid-1950s due to low home radio ownership in China. It was later replaced by the Radio of Free Asia (ROFA), operated jointly by US and South Korean intelligence services.

For decades, the US-funded media functioned as extensions of Washington’s intelligence agencies, running psychological operations even after the Cold War ended.

What’s REALLY behind US’ bombardment of Yemen?

💬 “Trump’s decision is to protect and help extend Israeli domination over the larger region,” Isa Blumi, an associate professor of Middle East studies at Stockholm University, told Sputnik, commenting on the US president’s launching of “decisive and powerful military action” against the militia Saturday.

The strikes have less to do with the Houthis than they do with trying to ensure the survival of the state of Israel, and Israeli and US projects to expel the Palestinians from Gaza, turn the strip into a glitzy Las Vegas-style resort, and exploit its offshore gas resources, the academic said.

💬 “This is not possible if Ansar Allah is able to undermine Israel’s economy,” Blumi stressed, pointing to the colossal impact the militia’s partial blockade of the Red Sea has had on Israeli shipping, including the bankruptcy of the port of Eilat. Hence the surprise US strikes meant to degrade the Houthis’ capabilities.

📉 Dems hit RECORD LOW in favorability – poll

The Democratic Party’s rating has plummeted to just 29% among the American public, a record low in CNN’s polling dating back to 1992, marking a 20-point drop since January 2021, according to the latest survey.

🔶 Among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, only 63% hold a favorable view of their own party, down from 72% in January and 81% at the start of Biden’s administration.

🔶 In contrast, 79% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents have a positive view of the GOP.
