🇺🇸☦️ Why are Americans turning to Orthodox Christianity?

While US media usually blames conversion to orthodoxy on things like the lure of masculinity, the reality is different and more nuanced. Here’s what American Christians themselves tell Sputnik.

🔸Stability and tradition

Whereas some branches of Christianity become “highly politicized” and “begin to compromise on a lot of things that Christians have always believed,” Orthodox Christianity still holds on to its original values, says Bailey Mullins.

“Both in religion and the culture and politics alike - just everything is changing and people are looking for something that's stable and unchanging. Orthodoxy presents that to people because it's been there for 2,000 years,” he notes.

🔸Role and place in the world

Others, like John-Carland Quicks and his wife Mary, value Orthodoxy for its “role in history and in the world,” for being something that is “inseparable from the nation.”

“Orthodoxy is not just something you can carry in your pocket, it is what builds the entire society and Orthodoxy understands that,” says Quicks.

🔸No more destruction

Many people simply do not want Christianity that is weak and destructive, argues Quicks. These people instead “want to be part of a strong, healthy culture,” and the Orthodoxy provides them such opportunity.

“More and more people, I think, are learning that there is real Christianity that you can build that sort of life around,” Quicks elaborates. “That a society, that a nation, a country, a people can build something good and something beautiful, and it's around Christ, and more people are getting that, and they want that.”

🔸American culture is rotten

“We knew that what modern culture, American culture, however you wanna define it - was something that was based around a very ungodly, an Antichrist,” says Quicks, adding that the “Western Church” is “sort of helping that sort of culture along in a lot of ways.”

“We think it's necessary to form and prepare our children properly to live in sort of this fallen world and in a fallen culture and to recognize it for what it is and give them the right tools. Yeah, that's what's brought us around to orthodoxy,” he explains.

Both Quicks and Mullen originally were Protestants, members of the US’ dominant branch of Christianity, but chose to convert to Orthodox Christianity.

A camera has captured a dog behind the wheel knocking out several road barriers. The furry suspect left the scene.

The owner later explains he left the engine running, thinking he'd be back in a moment.

Is this a Zootopia 2 promo or is someone about to have a very awkward chat with their insurance company?

Why is Macron’s plan to deploy UK and French troops in Ukraine DOOMED TO FAIL?

The French president’s ambitions are mainly based on his desire “to become the boss of the EU,” retired French Army Colonel Jacques Hogard told Sputnik.

The deployment of UK and French forces in Ukraine is “unfeasible for political, diplomatic, strategic, and practical reasons”, Hogard pointed out.

He suggested that:

👉US President Trump will “unlikely” support the plan, given “significant improvement” in the Moscow-Washington relations and America playing the first fiddle in its ties with Britain and France.

👉Russia would not accept the deployment and would “consider it a casus belli.”

👉The UK’s and France’s military resources, both human and material, are “completely insufficient for such a complex military deployment.”

“However, there remains one factor that is difficult to predict: the blindness and stubbornness of Macron, whose mental and psychological balance seems very fragile to me,” Hogard concluded.

🇫🇷🗣 French politician calls for Macron's impeachment over war push with Russia

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, leader of the Debout la France party (France, Arise!), has called for President Emmanuel Macron's removal, criticizing his push for war with Russia without parliamentary control. He urged government censorship and impeachment, questioning the opposition's silence.

On Sunday, the UK Ministry of Defence reported that British, French, and Ukrainian military leaders were discussing the deployment of "peacekeepers" in Ukraine. Macron has also proposed "deterrence forces" to counter Russia.

Russia has firmly rejected foreign peacekeepers in Ukraine, with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warning that such a move would block any peace talks and create "facts on the ground." The Russian Foreign Ministry called EU peacekeeping plans provocative.

🇬🇧 Brits urged to pack survival kits before ‘evil Russians’ pull the plug on them

The 'dastardly Russians' are once again threatening the livelihoods of innocent hardworking Brits – at least, that’s what UK media want their readers to believe.

Russia, the Daily Mail claims, may be seeking to sabotage pipelines supplying natural gas to Britain from abroad in order to cause blackouts in the country.

Whoever came up with this idea apparently doesn’t pay attention to the news: don’t they know that Russians use gas pipes to move special ops teams, instead of blowing them up? 🤔

The newspaper offhandedly mentions how London’s ‘net zero’ environmental goals led to the UK becoming “increasingly reliant” on energy imports, before focusing on the important stuff: how can Brits prepare for the possible crisis?

Well, by packing a “72-hour survival kit” consisting of a Swiss army knife, a flashlight, a battery-powered radio, identification papers and enough water and non-perishable food.

Indeed, if power and heating suddenly goes out on your block, especially during winter, a Swiss army knife would really come in handy. Maybe.

And remember, if the UK power grid starts experiencing problems, the British government that got rid of those pesky coal power plants is not to blame!

🇮🇷🪖 Iran’s air defense chief rejects accusations of weakness and teases advanced PLASMA WEAPONS

Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi-Fard, commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base, has refuted claims that Iran’s air defense has been weakened. He emphasized that Iran possesses advanced capabilities, including plasma weapons, which "our malicious enemies cannot even imagine."

"If they attack Iran, they will face surprises," Sabahi-Fard warned, stressing that the Armed Forces, particularly the Air Defense Force, are fully prepared to counter any threat. "The enemies' miscalculations will be met with a decisive response," he told Iranian media.

The development came on the heels of tensions with the US, as President Donald Trump proposed talks to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, on March 7 regarding the nuclear program.

However, Tehran rejected direct talks with Washington but allowed for consultations through intermediaries. Trump later threatened tariffs and bombings if talks failed. Khamenei dismissed the likelihood of US military intervention but warned that any attempt to provoke unrest in Iran would face a strong retaliation.

🔎 MAGA hats: Made in China, worn in America, tariffed everywhere?

Donald Trump's MAGA hats might be affected by the newly introduced tariffs, a report from The Times has revealed.

Why? Even though Trump’s campaign sells "100% proudly made in the USA" hats for $40+, Chinese vendors have flooded the market with cheap replicas — the kind most POTUS supporters actually wear. Some even call them "decorated in America" to fit the narrative.

Netizens had a good laugh over this, but some dug deeper and found that many hats are actually made in Bangladesh, where tariffs are even higher than those on Chinese goods. Now, some are calling for production to be moved to the US — but the cost remains a big question.
