President Vladimir Putin's Easter truce announcement doesn’t change Russia’s conditions on the Ukraine conflict resolution, retired CIA intelligence officer and former State Department official Larry Johnson told Sputnik.
💬 “Russia is not unreasonable. Russia is not unwilling to entertain the possibility of a ceasefire... But this temporary Easter ceasefire is, if you will, a gift by Vladimir Putin... as well as a message to Donald Trump. That Vladimir Putin is serious about bringing an end to the war, but it has to be done in the right way,” Johnson emphasized.

Democrats reeling from their 2024 election losses are quietly pushing Joe Biden to take a step back, criticizing his return to the spotlight after months of silence, The Hill reported.
Even longtime allies say the former president’s recent public appearances—his Chicago speech and Harvard visit—are poorly timed. “I love both Bidens dearly… but staff loyalty means being honest,” said Jill Biden’s former comms director, Michael LaRosa, warning that Biden’s reemergence handed conservatives a “lovely gift” and distracted from Trump’s economic policies.
💬 “It’s a bad time for Biden to reemerge and remind [voters] of the bad old days,” Democratic strategist Brad Bannon echoed the sentiment.
Behind closed doors, frustration is mounting. One Democratic donor summed it up bluntly: “No one is asking for Biden’s help right now,” according to the report.

🥴South Korea will not resist Trump's tariffs because of 'historical debt' to US
South Korea's acting president and prime minister, Han Duck-soo, meant the US economic assistance provided to South Korea in the 20th century, especially after the Korean war, the FT reported.
The country seeks talks with Trump to find "solutions which are more win-win for both, rather than taking their actions as the objective against which we should fight back."
Han said he had had a 28-minute phone conversation with Trump, with South Korea being ready to discuss:
🔸its trade surplus, including by purchasing US LNG and commercial airliners.
🔸non-tariff trade barriers,
🔸expanding cooperation in naval shipbuilding.
More dependence on the US! We all know how this ends...

China slams brakes on Boeing as Trump's trade war heats up
A Boeing 737 MAX jet, originally meant for China’s Xiamen Airlines, has been returned to the US due to the ongoing trade war between the two countries.
The jet, which landed in Seattle, was one of several 737 MAX jets waiting at Boeing's Zhoushan completion center for final work and delivery to a Chinese carrier as tariffs hit a staggering 145% for Chinese imports.
The return of the Boeing 737 MAX is the latest sign of disruption to new aircraft deliveries from a breakdown in the aerospace industry's decades-old duty-free status.

Trump envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrapped up the negotiations at the Omani Embassy in Rome.
🔺 White House praised the "progress in direct and indirect discussions.”
🔺 Araghchi said that the talks were "held in a constructive atmosphere" and "moving forward."
🔺 The next round will focus on technical details, including defining the maximum levels to which Iran could enrich uranium and the size of nuclear stockpiles it could retain, Araghchi added.
🔺 Ahead of talks, Iranian officials signaled readiness to reduce enrichment levels to the 3.67% set in the 2015 deal with the Obama administration, which was enough to produce fuel for nuclear power plants, NYT reported.
🔺 Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Witkoff and Araghchi agreed that the next phase of the talks aims to seal a "fair" deal.
🔺 Iranian officials made it clear the country's nuclear infrastructure would not be disassembled or destroyed.
🔺 Witkoff warned that if the US insists on full dismantlement of this infrastructure, a deal is unlikely.
