Donald Trump and his top national security officials weren’t aware of an order that stopped the delivery of US weapons and munitions to Ukraine, Reuters claims, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The verbal order, which resulted in the cancellation of some 11 flights loaded with weapons and munitions, came from the office of US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

The order was supposedly issued shortly after a January 30 meeting at the Oval Office where the idea of halting US aid to Ukraine was floated, but Trump himself ostensibly gave no such instruction.

This cessation in weapon shipments was only temporary as in a matter of days (“within a week”) the flights were resumed after frantic pleas from the Ukrainian side.
