🗣 US intervention in Israel-Iran conflict will 'open Pandora’s box' – Kremlin spox

Any US intervention in the conflict between Israel and Iran would fuel extremism within Iran and “open Pandora’s box,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned in an interview with Sky News.

💬 “This would provoke resistance from Iran. Iranian society is highly organized and consolidated, and such intervention would lead to a rise in extremism within the country,” Peskov said. “Moreover, those discussing such scenarios should understand that they are opening Pandora’s box.”

The comments came in response to a question about what consequences might follow if Israel, with US backing, attempted to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Peskov added that Russia’s reaction to such an act would be “very negative.”

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said Washington knows Khamenei’s whereabouts but is not currently planning to “eliminate” him. He demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender” while stating he would prefer to avoid military action—though he warned that American patience is “running out.”
