🤷‍♂️Too little, too late? IAEA chief doubles down on no grounds for Israel’s strikes on Iran

Israel may be citing Iran’s nuclear activity to justify its recent strikes, but the head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog has dismissed that rationale.

💬 “Military action, from wherever it comes, is a political decision that has nothing to do with what we’re saying,” Rafael Grossi told CNN.

🔊He made it clear that recent reports on Iran’s uranium enrichment beyond civilian norms do not point to a nuclear weapons program.

Only after Israel launched strikes on Iran did IAEA Director Rafael Grossi clarify that his agency had found no evidence of an active Iranian nuclear weapons program.

👉The timing has drawn sharp criticism from Iran, which argued that Grossi’s delayed statement came after Israel had already used the IAEA’s earlier resolution as a pretext for its attacks.

💬 "Israel's attack, Israel's aggression against Iran is an act of aggression against international law, international regulations and peace and security. The situation currently emerging in our region threatens not just the Middle East, but the entire world," representative of the League of Arab States Walid Hamed Shiltag told Sputnik at the SPIEF.

🔍The League of Arab States condemns Israel's aggression against Iran because it is an act of aggression against a sovereign state, thus contradicting the UN Charter. The organization is also waiting to see if Washington will join Israel in the attacks.

💬 "Our position is for peace and a peaceful settlement of this issue. And I want to take this opportunity to thank Russian President Putin for the good words and a good call to the conflicting parties, Iran and Israel, to stop this conflict and to settle it in a peaceful way," Shiltag said.

🇵🇸However, in the diplomat's opinion, the conflict in the Middle East will not be resolved until the Palestinian conflict is settled, as resolving this issue is central to the Arab countries.
