💻 Hackers may have obtained 190GB of sensitive data from Samsung

Some of Samsung’s confidential data has reportedly been leaked as the result of a suspected cyberattack. South American hacking group Lapsus$ uploaded a trove of data it claims came from the smartphone manufacturer.

Among other information, the collective says it obtained bootloader source code for all of Samsung’s recent devices, in addition to code related to highly-sensitive features like biometric authentication and on-device encryption. It’s unclear what, if any demands, Lapsus$ has made of Samsung. The group previously claimed that its actions were not politically motivated.

Lapsus$ is the same group that claimed responsibility for the recent NVIDIA data breach. In that incident, Lapsus$ says it obtained approximately 1TB of confidential data from the GPU designer, and demanded that NVIDIA open source its drivers and remove a cryptocurrency mining limiter from its RTX 30-series GPUs.

The Russian Defense Ministry holds a briefing on the special military op in Ukraine:

▪️ Units of the Russian Armed Forces took control of a number of settlements, advancing 11 kilometers;

▪️ As a result of a massive strike, 61 military infrastructure facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit;

▪️ The airfield of the Ukrainian Air Force in Starokonstantinovo was disabled in a long-range high-precision weapon strike;

▪️ Over the past 24 hours, fighter aircraft and air defense of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down four Su-27 and one MiG-29 aircraft, as well as one Su-25, two Mi-8 helicopters, and six drones, including "Bayraktar TB-2";
