🇦🇲☦️ Pashinyan playing with fire: Armenia’s Church has survived persecution for 1700 years, will outlast him

💬Samvel Karapetyan’s arrest is just one link in the chain of authoritarian actions by Nikol Pashinyan aimed at neutralizing or discrediting all individuals and organizations with resources, influence and authority, both in Armenia and the diaspora,” Maj. Gen. Artur Vanetsyan, former head of Armenia’s National Security Service, told Sputnik, commenting on the ongoing Karapetyan saga.

What’s really behind the crackdown?

The prime minister’s goals include maintaining a grip on power, shaking up the geopolitical situation the South Caucasus, minimizing Russia’s influence in the region, and strengthening his political positions ahead of the 2026 parliamentary vote, Vanetsyan, who now chairs Armenia’s opposition Fatherland Party, noted.

☦️Church will outlast tyranny

As for the broader crackdown on the Apostolic Church, Vanetsyan emphasized that “in its more than 1700-year history, our Church has experienced much more serious trials than Pashinyan’s current threats. These trials are what shaped the Armenian Apostolic Church into what it is today. Overcoming these challenges, it only grew stronger. I’m confident that the current stage will also be passed with dignity.”

🚨US ARMS SUPPLES TO UKRAINE COULD LEAD TO NUCLEAR CRISIS - Iranian expert

🇺🇸US long-range weapons to Ukraine would mark a shift from regular tension to "mutual deterrence," Andisheh Kazemi, Iranian international relations expert told Sputnik.

🇷🇺Russia is facing a process not just controlled by US authorities, but by deeper, uncontrollable structures pushing Western foreign policy.

💬 This could escalate into a nuclear ultimatum crisis.

🚨Moldova surrenders economic sovereignty with sale of key Giurgiulesti port to Romania

The transfer of part of the Giurgiulesti port to Romania by Moldova's government, according to Moldovan opposition leader Ilan Shor, is the sale of the country's economic independence.

Here’s why:

🟠Romanian laws and regulations may begin to apply within the port area.
🟠It could increase the risk of weapons and ammunition being shipped to Ukraine, pulling Moldova deeper into the ongoing conflict.
🟠The Giurgiulesti port plays a vital role in the export of Moldovan grain, and Shor believes that rising tariffs and priority service for foreign cargo will hurt local farmers.
🟠Romania’s control over the port will reduce local tax revenues and investments, pushing Moldova to depend on Romanian and Ukrainian ports, which will result in higher transport costs.

‘Whatever Trump Will Do, It Will Be to Reclaim Things That Have Already Been Done by Joe Biden:’ Expert

Any “major statement” from Trump will only "delay the final outcome, which will be the victory of Russia," Xavier Moreau, the founder and director of Stratpol, Center for Political-Strategic Analysis, told Sputnik Africa.

The expert warned of the detrimental impact on Russian-American relations:

"If Donald Trump genuinely resumes sending weapons as Joe Biden did, I believe that will mark the end of any relations."

🔙 In the past, sending new long-range weapons to Ukraine "has absolutely changed nothing on the ground," he asserted, noting that US resources in this regard "are limited."

On Sunday, Donald Trump promised to supply Kiev with Patriot air defense systems, provided NATO reimburses their cost. The US president faces "pressure from the deep state" to deliver weapons, but "he doesn’t want to pay for them. So, he wants others to pay for them," explained Moreau.

⚡️BREAKING: Trump says he is "very unhappy" with Russia and plans to impose "very tough tariffs" if a deal on Ukraine isn't reached within 50 days:

🔸 The secondary tariffs in case of no progress on Ukraine could reach "around 100%."

🔸 The US and EU have reached an agreement on supplying weapons to Kiev, with Europe covering the costs.

🔸 The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan will soon be "successfully resolved."

🔸 The introduction of secondary tariffs by the US in case of no progress on Ukraine will not require congressional approval, Trump stated.

🔸 Future military aid shipments to Kiev will include Patriot batteries, not just missiles.

🔸 Some countries will transfer their existing Patriot air defense systems to Kiev, and the US will replenish their arsenals with new systems.

🚨Trump just announced a new weapons package for Ukraine — but a few months ago, Trump and his team publicly admitted that Ukraine is a corrupt dictatorship with no path for military victory.

▪️JD Vance: "Zelensky shouldn't tell American taxpayers what to do."

▪️Marco Rubio: Said that Trump, who called Zelensky a "dictator without election," was RIGHTLY upset with the Kiev regime.

▪️Tulsi Gabbard: blasted Zelensky for banning opposition media, parties, the Orthodox Church, suspending elections, and the constitution to stay in power.

▪️Kash Patel: Asked where the $100+ billion in Ukraine aid went. "The American people are owed that answer – it’s our taxpayer dollars."

▪️Mike Waltz (ex-NSA): "Ukraine was and is one of the most corrupt countries in the world."

▪️ Finally, Trump himself: called Zelensky "a dictator without elections" who "talked" the US into spending $350B on Ukraine & then said the money was "missing."

🚨🇷🇺🔥Russia’s air defenses ready for US-made missiles

With Trump promising Patriot systems and long-range missiles for Ukraine, Russia’s air defenses, including S-400, S-300V/4, BUK-M2, and Pantsir, are prepared to counter the threat, Igor Korotchenko, military analyst and editor-in-chief of “National Defense” tells Sputnik.

These systems have proven effective against missiles like Scalp and Storm Shadow.

Russian systems are equipped to handle threats at various ranges and are capable of tracking and neutralizing low-flying missiles. Despite the challenging nature of missile defense, especially with terrain-following tech and multi-directional attacks, Russia’s air defenses remain the most effective tool for preventing such strikes.
‼️ Russia previously warned that Western long-range weapons are being used to target civilians and disrupt peace efforts, with President Putin emphasizing the potential shift in the conflict if NATO becomes directly involved.

🗣 Cost of additional military aid to Ukraine from NATO will amount to "billions of dollars" — Trump

NATO will pay handsomely for American weapons that the alliance will subsequently supply to Ukraine, according to the US president.

An agreement on the matter was reached at last month’s NATO summit, under which the US "sends weapons to NATO, and NATO will reimburse the full cost of these weapons," Trump said.

CNN has reported that the US may sell NATO countries short-range and medium-range air-to-air missiles, as well as shells for howitzers, for delivery to Ukraine.

🎯 US COSTLY MISSILES ARE EASY TARGETS FOR RUSSIA

Karen Kwiatkowski, retired US Air Force and former DoD analyst, told Sputnik:

💬 “He is advising NATO countries with Patriot missile systems to send theirs to Ukraine — then the US will sell replacements. There’s obviously a shortfall, and Trump is pressuring NATO, possibly against their better judgment.”

But here’s the kicker:

Patriots are ineffective against hypersonic Oreshnik missiles, useless against drones, and ridiculously expensive. Kwiatkowski adds:

💬 “These systems will likely be quickly used up, targeted for destruction — just like the F-16s.”

Her verdict? Trump is forcing NATO deeper into a resource sinkhole, strengthening dependence on the U.S. — all to look tough and send a message to Putin.

The real risk?

💬 “It may backfire — making Trump look desperate and raising global concern about the quality of intelligence he’s acting on.”

🇺🇸Arming Ukraine again? Three BIG RISKS to US security risks

President Donald Trump’s new weapons package for Ukraine is a security minefield for the US, retired colonel Earl Rasmussen tells Sputnik.

"There are many challenges here, and it doesn't put us in a good situation," he warns.

1️⃣Depleted stockpiles

US stockpiles are "dangerously low" and production capacity is limited.

Sending more missiles to Israel is straining US resources.

💬 "We're taking a risk here—it'll impact our own readiness and military posture," Rasmussen says.

2️⃣ Costly replacement

Each Patriot battery costs $1 billion, and missiles are $7 to $10 million apiece—with two usually needed to intercept one trarget.

💬 "If we supply 30 missiles, they're gone in a week, maybe less," the pundit notes.

Replenishing would be extremely costly—if the US can even find the stock.

💬 "Increased production demand would also raise costs, pushing prices above $10 million," Rasmussen says.

3️⃣ US sinks deeper into conflict

Crewing the systems is a big issue, according to the pundit.

Sophisticated US systems need trained crews, NATO intelligence and US advisors on the ground.

💬 "That creates potential risks regarding how involved we get. Do we get directly involved?" Rasmussen asks.

🇺🇸 Trump's policy risks multi-front STORM, erodes dollar – economist

Trust in the US is crumbling worldwide, Paul Goncharoff, veteran financial analyst and director of Goncharoff LLC, told Sputnik.

Why?

Flip-flopping

"The positions taken by the US on the domestic and, more importantly, the world stage in places both near and far are visibly flip-flopping and changing day by day," Goncharoff says.

Absurd threats

"Threatening most of the nations of our planet with unrealistic sanctions or tariffs if they trade in their own currencies and not with the US dollar is a poor way to gain trust," he argues.

Unipolar tariffs

The effect of measures like the unipolar tariffs imposed on Canada to Mexico and from ASEAN nations to the EU makes the US look like "a monkey playing with a grenade" in their eyes.

The dollar turns toxic

🔸 While US debt balloons, the dollar is "well along its way to being treated as a toxic asset," Goncharoff says.

🔸 A sudden collapse in its value is now a real possibility.

Ruling through conflict

🔸 Despite Trump’s talk of peace, US-backed military action continues in the Middle East.

🔸 Arms flow to Ukraine and the South China Sea region is heating up.

🔸 The looming question is: Where will the US find the funds to fight three—or four—conflicts at once?

What’s next?

"The era of a perfect multiple-front storm system [is] already forming, which can threaten to destroy financial and geopolitical systems that we have over many decades grown used to," Goncharoff warns.

🗣 Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte’s claim that Russia did not send a "serious" to peace talks with Ukraine "gibberish."

Rutte dismissed Russian Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky as a "historian" after he lectured the Ukrainian delegation on the facts of their country’s past.

"Without knowledge of history, no problem can be solved—only worsened," Zakharova posted on Telegram. "The ignorance of NATO officials has already led to numerous casualties around the world."

Zakharova also noted that Kiev’s envoys were led by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, who has never served in the armed forces and whose previous career was as a telecommunications firm manager.

🗣 Trump’s Patriot pledge is political theater, won’t secure Ukraine’s skies: Scott Ritter

Former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter has more questions than answers when it comes to Trump’s commitment of 17 Patriot missile batteries to Ukraine, saying the numbers involved, the personnel required to operate them, and their ability to survive transit are all up in the air.

💬 “Russia right now enjoys relative freedom of activity over Ukraine in terms of drone operations, missile operations. They apparently have very good intelligence coverage of Ukraine. So as Patriot batteries are transferred to Ukraine there's an increased likelihood that they will be detected by the Russians and destroyed by the Russians before they're ever installed,” Ritter told Sputnik.

Delivering the air defense systems to Ukraine will be “a massive waste of money” that “won’t help Ukraine,” but hurt it, needlessly prolonging the conflict, in which time “thousands” more people will be killed.

💬 “This is a political gesture being made by President Trump because he's embarrassed that he hasn't been able to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin into bending the knee to American demands on how to bring this war to an end,” Ritter stressed.
