💬 The United States, having never apologized for the nuclear bombings of Japan, is reinforcing the belief that they did the right thing at the time, Maria Zakharova told Sputnik.

"What does 'lack of condemnation' mean for the US? It creates a comfort zone for them. It doesn’t push them out of it. It keeps them in it so they don’t have to wonder (over questions like) ‘Do you regret it?’, ‘Would you do it again?’, and ‘Will you ever do it again?'" the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added.

💣 In August 1945, American pilots dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. From the atomic explosion and its aftermath, 140,000 people died in Hiroshima, out of a population of 350,000, and 74,000 in Nagasaki.

☢️ The overwhelming majority of the victims of the atomic bombing were civilians. Every year, on the anniversaries of these tragic events—August 6 and 9—"Peace Ceremonies" are held in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The EU can’t afford real integration of Moldova, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik.

“The only funds being allocated now are for militarization. If by ‘integration’ they mean turning Moldova into a military outpost, they should say so. Moldova is just a pawn — a means to push anti-Russian rhetoric or distract from the West’s own economic failures,” she said.

🚨PUTIN-WITKOFF TALKS END AFTER 3 HOURS

The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steven Witkoff at the Kremlin has ended, the presidential press service reported.

The talks lasted about three hours.

The US Presidential envoy arrived in Moscow early on Wednesday morning. It is his fifth visit to Russia in 2025.
