Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak clarifies Russia's position on Europe's record gas prices and proposals to ban oil exports from Russia:

▪️ The rise in oil and gas prices has been caused by the failure of Europe's energy policy, Russia has nothing to do with the current rise;

▪️ Russia is fulfilling its obligations regarding the supply of gas, as well as oil and oil products;

▪️ Moscow is concerned about market pressure and allegations of a possible embargo;

▪️ These discussions have created uncertainties and resulted in significant harm to consumers;

▪️ Rejection of Russian oil will lead to catastrophic consequences for the world market, causing a surge in prices of up to $300 per barrel or more;

▪️ It cannot be quickly replaced; it will take more than one year and European consumers will pay for it;

▪️ Russia has the right to impose an embargo on the pumping of gas through the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline because of the situation with Nord Stream 2, but is not doing this;

▪️ Gazprom is fulfilling its contract for gas transit through Ukraine;

▪️ In general, Russia is ready for Europe to give up Russian energy resources. Moscow understands where it can redirect the supplies

🔎 Texas Governor Greg Abbott told state health agencies in Texas on Tuesday that medical treatments provided to transgender adolescents, widely considered the standard of care in medicine, should be classified as “child abuse” under existing state law.

His statements, made in a letter to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, followed an opinion on Friday by Attorney General Ken Paxton that providing medical treatments like puberty-suppressing drugs and hormones to transgender teenagers should be investigated as child abuse.

Professional medical groups and transgender health experts have overwhelmingly condemned legal attempts to limit “gender-affirming” care. They contend that they would significantly harm transgender young people.
