🇺🇸In 1997, US President Joe Biden seemingly predicted how Russia would react to NATO’s eastwards enlargement.
‘’I think the one place, where the greatest consternation would be caused in the short-term ... would be to admit Baltic states now. In terms of NATO-Russian, US-Russian relations. And if there was ever anything that was going to tip the balance ... in terms of a vigorous and hostile reaction, I don't mean military, in Russia, it would be that,’’ Biden, who then was a US senator, said.
Before making that comment, Biden noted that it was his personal belief and not one of the US administration or Congress. The Baltic states were ultimately admitted to NATO in 2004. Russian President Vladimir Putin would later describe it as a deceit and personal betrayal on behalf of Western leaders.

Updates from the White House's daily press briefing:
🇺🇸 "Energy security" was indeed on the agenda in the first US meeting with Venezuelan officials since the US broke off relations
🇺🇸JCPOA negotiations: "the most important reason we are focused on having these discussions with Iran... is to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon," but "certainly the discussion of oil is a part of that."
🇺🇸No decision has been made at this point about a ban on importing oil from Russia. However, “those discussions are going on internally and also with [the US’] counterparts and partners in Europe and around the world
🇺🇸 As prices at the pump continue to skyrocket due to western sanctions Biden's message is "he's going to do everything... he can to reduce the impact on the American people."

🔥💔A viral TikTok showed Starbucks workers using the one-sided fight over Kim Kardashian to rack up more money with Kanye West or Pete Davidson tip jars.
TikTok user @dejapoo00 shared a video going through the Starbucks drive-thru where the labeled tip jars were left out.

🇺🇸 The People's Convoy, a large group of truckers protesting US covid restrictions and inflation, circled Washington, DC for the second straight day, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
Truckers gathered at the city of Hagerstown, Maryland for an almost 80-mile ride to the nation's capital. The convoy seemed to stretch for several miles, including hundreds of trucks, SUVs, buses, and other vehicles - most with American flags and signs including many calling for protecting freedom.

🏛More than 30 House Republicans are urging the Biden administration to end COVID-19 vaccine mandates for truckers and agricultural workers coming across the U.S. border, warning that the mandates risk having a "catastrophic effect" on the supply chain crisis.
The Department of Homeland Security in January began requiring non-U.S. citizens coming across the border via ports of entry to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19. That includes truck drivers and workers coming across on H-2A temporary agricultural worker visas.
"Despite the historic supply and labor shortages, the Biden administration has upheld this restrictive vaccine mandate," Norman told Fox News in a statement. "Agricultural employers already depend on nonimmigrant foreign workers to fill domestic labor shortages. This policy does little to mitigate the spread of the virus and hurts essential industries along the way."

📲Liberals erupted on Twitter Monday after a self-described liberal college student spoke out about what she called the stifling of free speech on her university campus.
In a Monday guest essay for The New York Times, University of Virginia senior Emma Camp wrote that while she expected her college experience to be filled with "rigorous intellectual discussion," she found that students have become fearful of speaking their minds and engaging in open debate.
The column immediately drew fire from liberals on social media who've long chalked up complaints of censorship on college campuses to baseless right-wing talking points.
In her guest essay, Camp implored universities to stop canceling "controversial speakers" and caving to "unreasonable student demands," adding they should also reward intellectual diversity in the classroom and discard restrictive speech codes.

💥Disney CEO Bob Chapek spoke out about Florida's controversial "Don't Say Gay" bill in a staff email Friday -- but doubled down on his refusal to publish a public statement against it.
Chapek said he and Disney's (DIS) leadership "unequivocally stand" with LGBTQ+ employees. He said the company, which employs over 75,000 in Florida, is committed to inclusivity in a staff email obtained by CNN Business.
Disney has faced mounting criticism for not taking a stand on Florida's 'Don't Say Gay" bill, which would ban educators from discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity in classrooms. The bill -- officially known as the Parental Rights in Education bill -- is supported by Governor Ron DeSantis and is expected to become law in Florida.

🇺🇸🇷🇺🛢 Members of Congress may introduce legislation banning the import of Russian oil as soon as this week, Politico reports.
As US lawmakers are exploring the possibility of an oil ban, Russian Deputy PM Alexander Novak said Monday that such a move would affect consumers worldwide.
Meanwhile, the average price for regular gasoline in the US is approaching the record-high set in July 2008 (just prior to the global financial crisis) 😱

💻 Apple recently sent out invites for its “Peek Performance” event, scheduled for Tuesday, March 8th at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT. While internet sleuths have tried to discern any hidden meanings baked into the invite graphic or the use of the word “peek,” it’s almost certain that one of the announcements for this event will be an iterative update of the budget-friendly iPhone SE, now with 5G compatibility.
On the iPad front, we may see an updated iPad Air replace the model that debuted in 2020 with a refreshed design — also now with 5G in tow.
Beyond that, things get a little murkier. There have been rumors of a new, higher-end Mac Mini for a little while now. While the existing M1 Mac Mini is still a formidable little machine, nobody is going to say no to more power.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 Remember Victoria Nuland giving out sandwiches to Maidan protesters in Kiev? Well, her efforts for “democracy” may be in vain 😂
The National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a CIA spinoff organization employed by the US government since 1983 to “promote democracy” using ‘soft power’ abroad, has suddenly and inexplicably scrubbed all references to their funding of Ukrainian groups.
On the Central Europe page, Ukraine is not listed under the countries anymore.
According to the NED, Ukraine is the world’s fourth-greatest recipient of its funding and has been a “major partner” of the organization since 1989. It is linked to training “pro-democracy activists” in more than 50 countries–virtually all of which are current targets of Western-backed regime change efforts or home to strategically significant resource reserves
