A six-year-old girl has been reunited with her mother in Russia after Qatari mediation secured her return from Ukraine, according to Russia's Children's Ombudswoman Maria Lvova-Belova.

💬 "After the family appealed to our office for help, we immediately took on the case. Now, the girl has been reunited with her mother in Russia," said Lvova-Belova.

The office of the Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights has already helped reunite 28 children from 18 families with relatives in Russia, and 115 children from 91 families in Ukraine and other countries.

A Ukrainian soldier shot a woman and slit her young child’s throat in order to steal their Mitsubishi vehicle near Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk) in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR), local resident Sergey Vladov tells Sputnik.

"Two soldiers from the Ukrainian army killed a mother and her son here a month ago. They shot the woman and cut the child’s throat. They also took their Mitsubishi car, which was later found in the Dnepr [river]," Vladov states.

Such crimes have been regularly committed by Ukrainian troops in the city since 2014, he added.
