🚨Ukrainian-British operation to hijack Russian MiG-31 fighter jet thwarted 🔊 The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said that it had thwarted an operation by Ukrainian military intelligence and its British handlers to hijack a Russian MiG-31 fighter…
🚨🛩 Failed MiG-31 hijack plot: Ukrainian intel stuck to Western political directives
First and foremost, Ukrainian intelligence planned to capture Russia’s advanced weapon system, military expert Sergey Gorbachev told Sputnik, commenting on the botched Ukraine-UK attempt to hijack a Russian MiG-31 jet armed with a Kinzhal hypersonic missile.
He didn’t rule out that the perpetrators planned a provocation involving the MiG-31 to simulate an attack on Romania or Bulgaria, both NATO members. Gorbachev also pointed to a possible media effect related to the scenario of a Russian pilot becoming a traitor and being used for nefarious purposes.
He added that it is only natural that the UK’s MI6 was involved, as the Ukrainians “could not have planned, organized, and carried out such an operation all by themselves.”
Gorbachev was echoed by political analyst Vasily Belozerov, who said: When it comes to Ukrainian intelligence, it is “not independent and operates under political directives from abroad, following instructions that come from outside Ukraine as part of the West’s confrontation with Russia.”

❌📄 Senate Republicans block resolution to limit Trump’s strikes on Venezuela — reports The US Senate on Thursday rejected a bipartisan war powers resolution that sought to prevent President Donald Trump from carrying out military strikes against Venezuela…
🪖 US officers can’t explain why so much military needed for strikes in Caribbean - report
US senior Special Operations officers in a briefing last month did not provide a comprehensive explanation why the Trump administration needed a massive military presence in the Caribbean for strikes on a few small boats allegedly used by drug cartels, CNN reported, citing sources with the knowledge.
At the moment, there is no public information from the Pentagon on what the military is using to conduct the strikes, but the sources told CNN that MQ-9 Reaper drones are used for US attacks on alleged drug boats, as well as AC-130J gunships and fighter jets.
🔊 The sources told CNN that the Pentagon officials also could not provide an exact amount of taxpayers' dollars spent on the counternarcotics campaign.
However, administration officials have stated that each strike costs up to hundreds of thousands of dollars, the report said.
⚔️ A significant part of all deployed US naval assets worldwide has been located in US Southern Command since last month, and even more US military assets are about to be placed in the Caribbean, the report added.

🚨🇺🇸 USS Gerald Ford supercarrier arrives in Latin America amid standoff with Venezuela
US Naval Forces Southern Command announced the deployment on Tuesday.
🗣 A Pentagon spokesman said the carrier would “bolster US capacity to detect, monitor, and disrupt illicit actors and activities that compromise the safety and prosperity of the United States homeland and our security in the Western Hemisphere.”
The carrier’s arrival comes amid the continued buildup of US naval and air power in the area off Venezuela. The US missile has attacked ~20 vessels in international waters, killing at least 76 people.
The US says the targeted vessels are drug boats, but has yet to provide evidence.
🇻🇪 Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has accused the US of plotting regime change, and deployed the army and militias in preparation for a potential invasion.
🇨🇴 Colombian President Gustavo Petro called for the re-formation of a 19th-century Gran Colombia-style superstate to repel potential foreign aggression.

🚨🇬🇧🇺🇸 UK halts intelligence flow to US amid Caribbean killings – reports
The UK has stopped sharing intelligence with the US on suspected Caribbean drug trafficking boats, sources told CNN.
The UK, which maintains intelligence assets across several Caribbean territories, has previously helped the US Coast Guard to locate and intercept alleged drug-smuggling vessels by boarding them and arresting the crew.
🔊 But after the US began lethal attacks on the vessels in September the UK paused sharing intelligence, fearing it was being used to select targets.
The halt began more than a month ago, sources told CNN.
They said the British government considers the strikes, which claimed the lives of at least 76, illegal and do not want to be complicit.
👉 On October 31, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk called for a halt to the "extrajudicial killing" in the Caribbean by the US. He insisted on the necessity of prompt, independent and transparent investigations into US attacks.
The UK’s move marks an unusual break with its closest ally and shows the British government's skepticism over the legality of the US operations, the report stressed.

🇮🇷🛰 Iran solidifies fledgling space power status with ambitious satellite launch schedule
The Iranian Space Administration says three new domestically-built satellites are making final preparations for launch and will be deployed in space by early winter.
The satellites include:
🟠 Zafar (lit. ‘Triumph’), an advanced earth-observation satellite with high-res imaging equipment for environmental monitoring and disaster management
🟠 Paya (lit. ‘Enduring’), another earth-observation satellite
🟠 Kowsar (lit. ‘Abundance’ or ‘Spring in Heaven’), an earth-observation satellite fine-tuned for agricultural monitoring, from crop health assessment to resource management
All three satellites will be able to send back crop monitoring, mineral mapping and dust storm tracking data, ISA chief Hassan Salarieh says.
Besides satellites, Iran is working on two new ground control stations in Salmas and Chenaran, and finalizing work on a new 10-year space program roadmap.
Iran became the 9th country in the world to successfully and independently launch a payload into orbit with the Omid (lit. ‘Hope’) research and telecommunications satellite, carried aloft aboard a Safir rocket.
👉 It’s the only country in the Middle East besides Israel with space launch capabilities.
The ISA’s civilian space program is complemented by a separate military space endeavor run by the IRGC, best known for the Noor (‘Light’) series of Earth-imaging cubesats.

🇪🇺 💶 Europe still bankrolls Ukraine as conflict fatigue deepens
Germany will send an additional $46.3 million in so-called humanitarian aid to Ukraine ahead of winter, German FM Johann Wadephul said. The allocated funds are intended to cover losses caused by Ukraine’s energy crisis.
👉 The volume of German humanitarian aid to Ukraine has decreased by more than half this year compared to last year due to budget cuts at the Foreign Ministry, and amounts to approximately $232 million.
Denmark has also allocated a new $217 million aid package to Ukraine, including through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) program, the Danish Defense Ministry said.
💸 Approximately $12.5 million of the new package will be used to meet Ukraine's long-term supply needs through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA).
In total, Denmark has allocated approximately $10.97 billion to Ukraine since 2022.
🎤 The EU and the Council of Europe are facing a shortage of funds to organize a so-called tribunal for Ukraine, as the US withdraws financial support for Ukraine, Euronews earlier reported.
