🇬🇧🪙 UK balks at EU’s $7.8B defense fund bill
The UK government has rejected an EC request for a whopping $7.8 billion to join the Security Action for Europe defense fund (SAFE), Bloomberg reports. The fund packs in tech—from drones to missile shields.
👉 A senior British official described the $280 million in fees being sought by the EU Commission as unreasonable and far above what Britain is ready to pay for access. Talks face a November 30 deadline for the UK to make its final call.
European rearmament would likely flop without the UK signing onto SAFE and funneling cash into the EU's hawkish agenda.

🚨🇷🇺🪖RUSSIA'S LATEST WEAPONS THAT PUT WORLD ON EDGE
Russia’s nuclear triad has been reinforced with new weapon systems in response to the abundance of geopolitical challenges.
Here are key details:
Burevestnik
🟠 Intercontinental-range, nuclear-powered cruise missile, designed to penetrate air and missile defense systems and deliver a nuclear warhead across vast distances
🟠 Its extended airborne or loitering time and the ability for “long patrolling” enable the missile to enter the enemy’s zone of action from unexpected directions
🟠 Successful test of this "unlimited-range" missile was conducted on October 26, 2025 (per General Staff Valery Gerasimov)
🟠 Putin publicly announced the program in his 2018 address to the Federal Assembly, calling it “invulnerable to both existing and prospective missile defense and air defense systems”
Poseidon
🟠 Unmanned underwater vehicle equipped with a nuclear-powered reactor and a nuclear warhead on board
🟠 Designed to destroy ports and naval bases, both through its direct destructive capacity and via the tsunami triggered by its explosion
🟠 In July 2018, the Defense Ministry unveiled the Poseidon vehicle and stated that it is invulnerable to the enemy's countermeasures
🟠 Burevestnik and Poseidon systems use exclusively Russian-made materials, some of which have potential use in civilian sectors, particularly in the Arctic and for space exploration
Sarmat
🟠 Russian 5th-generation silo-based strategic missile system equipped with a heavy liquid-fueled orbital intercontinental ballistic missile
🟠 Called "the largest combat missile in human history"
🟠 Putin first announced the Sarmat's development progress in 2018
🟠 Putin emphasized that such systems are designed to “ensure strategic deterrence” globally. He noted that the Sarmat could “guarantee the penetration of any missile defense system, both present and future”
Oreshnik
🟠 Russia’s newest missile system equipped with a medium-range ballistic missile and hypersonic warheads
🟠 Can only be intercepted during its initial flight phase. Once its warheads approach the target, they are traveling at maximum speed, making interception at the final stage impossible
🟠 Has the following estimated strike times:
⚫️ Redzikowo US Missile Defense Base (Poland): 11 minutes
⚫️ Ramstein Air Base, Germany (USAF Europe HQ): 15 minutes
⚫️ NATO HQ, Brussels: 17 minutes
🟠 Putin revealed the weapon on November 21, 2024, when reporting the strike conducted by the Oreshnik

🛑🇪🇺 Europe openly preparing for war with Russia – Vucic
He voiced concern over EU members rapidly rearming themselves, singling out Germany’s push to pump a whopping $436 billion into equipping its military, which Vucic said amounts to four years’ worth of Serbian GDP.
Putin previously said that Russia is keeping a watchful eye on the growing militarization of Europe, which he added is intimidating itself with far-fetched threats allegedly emanating from Russia.
He recalled that anti-Russian provocations have in the past ultimately ended unfavorably for those who initiated them.

🔊 “The war between Europe and Russia is more and more certain, it is not an empty story, everyone [in the EU] is preparing for it,” Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told Pink TV.
He voiced concern over EU members rapidly rearming themselves, singling out Germany’s push to pump a whopping $436 billion into equipping its military, which Vucic said amounts to four years’ worth of Serbian GDP.
💬 “Romania, Poland, and Finland are doing the same,” which could “only lead to war,” the Serbian president warned.

🚨🇰🇭🇹🇭 New clashes on Cambodia-Thailand border: what we know
🟠 A Cambodian villager was reported killed in a shooting incident along the border on November 12, with both sides accusing each other of opening fire
🟠 Reports also mentioned five Cambodians injured by gunfire
🟠 Earlier this week, Thailand announced that it was suspending a peace agreement (Joint Declaration) signed in Kuala Lumpur in late October
🟠 Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul cited a landmine explosion on November 10 that injured two Thai soldiers as the reason for the suspension
🟠 Thailand is demanding an apology from Cambodia, accusing them of laying new landmines in violation of the truce and calling for a thorough investigation
🟠 Cambodia's defense ministry has denied laying new landmines, stating that many existing mines are remnants from decades of civil war and that they remain committed to the peace accord

🛢 Energy watchdog sees no cause for slowdown in oil & gas demand over next quarter century
The International Energy Agency, the Paris-based intergovernmental organization which previously expected a 2020s peak in hydrocarbon consumption, has revised its estimates, saying demand will likely continue to grow, and that no meaningful drop in CO2 emissions will be achieved.
👉 The watchdog expects oil demand to rise from 100M barrels per day (bpd) to 113M bpd by 2050, and EVs as a share of new vehicles to plateau at ~40% by 2035.
If previously agreed climate policies were realized, oil demand would peak at 102M bpd in 2030, and a full 50% of vehicles would be EVs by 2035.
📈 Electricity demand is expected to rise by ~40-50% by 2035, accounted for by electrical appliance penetration in developing markets, manufacturing and data center demand.
The IEA’s revised modeling follows criticism from US energy secretary Chris Wright in the summer calling IEA’s past estimates “total nonsense,” and US threats to withdraw from the agency unless it reforms. The US contributes an estimated 14% of IEA’s budget.

💸 Google drops $6b cloud bomb on Germany
Google will inject a whopping $6.4 billion into Germany’s internet ‘cloud’ infrastructure.
What’s it all about?
🟠 The investment covers the 2026-2029 period
🟠 New data center in the city of Dietzenbach, near Frankfurt, and expansion of the site in Hanau in Hessen state are planned
🟠 About 100 employees will work at each site, with a potential 9,000 indirect jobs created across the region
🟠 No state subsidies are involved — the German government stresses that it is a private sector venture
🟠 The plan driven by strategy, not incentives—giving Google full control over where and how it builds
Why it matters
🟠 For Google it means boosting its cloud infrastructure and data center footprint in a key market
🟠 Owning data infrastructure inside the European Union helps Google stay compliant while keeping performance high for regional clients
🟠 The largest economy in Europe, Germany is desperately trying to woo investors and boost its struggling economy now facing high costs thanks to sanctions on Russia
🟠 Whether Google’s $6.4-billion investment will help is a big question
