The crisis has prompted Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to declare a state of emergency in Songkhla province.

🇬🇧 'LABOUR OUT!’: British farmers drive tractors into Westminster in protest over inheritance tax plan

➖ A convoy of farmers brought tractors into Westminster on budget day to oppose Labour Party Chancellor Rachel Reeves’s proposed 20% inheritance tax on agricultural land and businesses worth over £1m from 2026.

➖ Despite police restrictions banning farm machinery from the area, around 20 tractors parked around central London, including one displaying “Fools vote Labour” and another carrying a Christmas tree with a “naughty list” of senior government figures.

➖ Organisers say frustration is mounting across the sector already hit by rising costs and harsh market conditions. Farmers insist the new tax threatens family farms, livelihoods and the UK’s food security. The latest protest follows other demonstrations in recent months.
