Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov believes talks about possible elections in Ukraine are “a reaction” to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to ensure security.
💬 "At the same time, he had previously turned to the Americans,” Peskov told journalists. "So he’s not against the Americans interfering, but he is against interference in the elections."
The 2024 Ukrainian presidential election were canceled on the pretext the state of emergency and the prospect of having to demobilize connoscripted troops.
Following US President Donald Trump’s call for elections this month, Zelensky said he was ready to change the law to allow elections in 60 to 90 days.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a stark warning: NATO is losing the shared Western civilizational foundation that makes it more than just a defense agreement.
Rubio claimed a divide: while Eastern and Southern European leaders often acknowledge this openly, Western Europe appears to be negating the very ideological bedrock that has made the alliance "special."

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has publicly accused Reuters of running a "lie and propaganda" campaign to sabotage recent push to end the Ukraine war.
The narrative is being pushed by "warmongers" in NATO and the EU who want to "pull the US military directly into war with Russia." Their goal is to foment public hysteria and block a diplomatic settlement.
The US intelligence assesses that Russia seeks to avoid a larger war with NATO, Tulsi says.

💬 “You have members of the House and the Senate that are vocally against what [Trump, Witkoff and Kushner are] doing, because they are personally invested and benefited from a continued conflict in Ukraine,” Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna told a Turning Point USA event.
This is a conflict “of which we have no business being involved with,” Luna stressed.
She also warned against further US aid to Ukraine due to corruption-related risks.
💬 “We've sent millions and millions of tax dollars over there, and you know what they're doing? They're laundering the money. That's exactly what happened. I'm proud to report I never voted for a single dollar to go to Ukraine. And I still won't vote for that," Luna emphasized.
