Donald Trump delivered a speech honouring the country’s fallen veterans, as the US celebrates Memorial Day.
🗣 On this Memorial Day, we remember the fallen heroes who took their last breaths in defense of our Nation, our families, our citizens, and our sacred freedoms. The depth of their devotion, the steel of their resolve, and the purity of their patriotism has no equal in human history.

🇫🇷 Liberty is the gift that keeps being given?
France will send the US a second Statue of Liberty on the US’s Independence Day as a symbol of the two countries’ shared history and ‘spirit of friendship.’
The new statue will be 30 times smaller that the first Lady Liberty, however, and Americans will be able to enjoy it until 2031, as France wants it back in 10 years, defining the event as a loan from the Conservatoire du Quai d’Orsay museum.

🇺🇸President Joe Biden has so far shown little resolve to tackle gun violence head-on, Manuel Oliver, whose son was killed in the 2018 school shooting, told Sputnik.
Oliver's son, Joaquin, 17, was one of the victims of the shooting that took place at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida in February 2018.
"I don’t see real intentions of solving the problem from Capitol Hill. Instead, I see a debate that became part of a 'normal way' of society. America has accepted Gun Violence as part of our identity and tradition, to the point that in some cases people feel proud of it," Oliver said.

"As for the upcoming summit in Geneva on 16 June of the presidents of Russia and the United States, we are not creating illusions, we are not trying to create the impression that there will be some breakthroughs, some historic fateful decisions, but the very fact of a conversation between the two leading nuclear powers at the level of top officials, of course, is important, this needs to be supported in every possible way," Lavrov said at a press conference.
