🚨🇺🇸🇷🇺 US attempts to intercept Russian oil tanker in the Atlantic Ocean

The Russian company BurevestMarin reported an attempted US interception of the tanker Marinera in the North Atlantic.

Despite the captain's efforts to demonstrate that the vessel was carrying no cargo and was a civilian ship, it was pursued by US Navy P-8A Poseidon drones.

Earlier this week, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Moscow was closely monitoring the abnormal situation surrounding the Russian oil tanker Marinera, which was in international waters of the North Atlantic under the Russian flag and in full compliance with international maritime law.

💬 "For reasons unclear to us, the Russian ship is being given increased and clearly disproportionate attention by the US and NATO military, despite its peaceful status,"the ministry emphasized.

Russia expects Western countries, which declare their commitment to freedom of navigation in international waters, to adhere to this principle themselves, the ministry said.

Japanese-Peruvian Alberto Fujimori governed Peru from 1990 to 2000 after coming to power in a populist campaign.

He implemented aggressive neoliberal reforms, privatising hundreds of state-owned enterprises in strategic sectors, attracting foreign investment – primarily from the United States.

In April 1992 he dissolved the Congress and Judiciary in an internal coup.

His supporters credit him with stopping the hyperinflation inherited from the previous government with a harsh economic program known as the Fujishock and defeating the terrorist organization Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path).

But those results came at the cost of suppressing democratic institutions.

His regime recruited death squads like the Colina Group, responsible for massacres, and promoted forced sterilization that affected up to 300,000 poor and indigenous women, with funding and support from USAID.
