⚡President Joe Biden on Tuesday signed legislation funding the US federal government and providing an array of aid to Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian military operation in the country.

Biden signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act for 2022, which funds the federal government through September 30, 2022 and provides $13.6 billion in humanitarian, economic and defense assistance for Ukraine.

The legislation sends a message that Republicans and Democrats can come together to get something done and fulfill their responsibility to keep the government open and serving Americans, Biden said during remarks prior to signing the bill.

🚔 Man wanted in stabbing at New York’s MoMA arrested in Philly

A man suspected of stabbing of two workers at New York’s Museum of Modern Art was arrested at a Philadelphia bus terminal early Tuesday after setting his hotel room on fire, police said. Gary Cabana, 60, had been sought by police since Saturday. Police found him sleeping on a bench and he was arrested without incident.

New York City police said Cabana leaped over a reception desk and stabbed two employees inside the Museum of Modern Art after he was denied entrance because his membership had been revoked. The workers, a man and woman, both aged 24, were stabbed multiple times but suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Cabana was a fugitive for several days, trading messages with reporters on social media while he was on the run. He claimed he was living with mental illness and that the museum had revoked his membership unfairly.

☀️ Senate passes bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent

The Senate passed a measure that would make Daylight Savings Time permanent across the U.S. Health groups have called for an end to the seasonal shifting of clocks, a ritual first adopted in the U.S. more than a century ago.

If the legislation clears the House and is signed into law by President Biden, it will mean Americans will no longer have to change their clocks twice a year. It would make Daylight Savings time permanent in 2023. Nearly two-thirds of Americans want to stop changing their clocks, according to a 2021 poll.

‼️ During almost a month of escalation, 49 civilians were killed, and another 237, including 13 children, were injured in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the ceasefire regime (JCCC) said in a statement.

"During the 27 days of escalation by Ukrainian armed formations, 49 civilians were killed, during the current day - two. A total of 237 civilians, including 13 children, were injured. Over this day, 11 people were injured, four of them from territories previously liberated by the DPR Armed Forces," the office said on Telegram.

A total of 1,146 residential houses, 330 civil infrastructure facilities, including 19 medical institutions, 44 educational institutions, 53 social facilities, 19 critical infrastructure facilities, 197 electricity, water and gas supply facilities, and 189 vehicles were damaged during the period, it said.
