☀️ Senate passes bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent

The Senate passed a measure that would make Daylight Savings Time permanent across the U.S. Health groups have called for an end to the seasonal shifting of clocks, a ritual first adopted in the U.S. more than a century ago.

If the legislation clears the House and is signed into law by President Biden, it will mean Americans will no longer have to change their clocks twice a year. 🚺 Biden moving to narrow gender pay gap for federal workers

The White House is marking Equal Pay Day by taking new steps aimed at ending the gender pay gap for federal workers and contractors. Labor Department directive is aimed at strengthening federal contractors’ obligations to audit payrolls to help guard against pay disparities based on gender, race or ethnicity.

The Office of Personnel Management also is considering a regulation to address the use of prior salary history in hiring and setting compensation for federal workers. Last October, the administration issued a national gender strategy to advance women’s and girls’ full participation in society.

This year, the administration is looking for new ways to combat pay disparities and drawing attention to high-profile efforts to combat the wage gap, such as the US women’s national soccer team’s $24 million February settlement with US Soccer in a discrimination dispute.

🏛 Democrats are planning to make abortion rights a huge midterm issue if the Supreme Court nixes or weakens Roe v. Wade

Pro-choice groups say that outrage over losing the nearly 50-year right enshrined in Roe v. Wade, which guarantees women the right to an abortion until about 23 weeks of pregnancy, would galvanize voters during an election cycle in which Democrats face steep odds of keeping control of Congress.

The prospect of losing federal protection for abortion rights has awakened Democrats to the need to take state-level races more seriously.

Pro-choice groups that also organized during elections, including Planned Parenthood and NARAL, point to gubernatorial and attorney general races in Texas and Georgia as potentially game-changing contests where electing a Democrat could stave off further erosion of abortion access in those GOP-controlled states.

Of the top 10 crypto-friendly industries, travel is number one, with 11.5% of companies in that sector accepting digital assets. The travel sector has been "quick to recognize" the growing demand for crypto-payment availability, with Expedia leading the way.

Meanwhile, fast-food chains including Burger King, as well as institutions of higher education, and sports teams are among other large companies and entities acting as early adopters of cryptocurrencies. McDonald's is reportedly working on it in El Salvador – the first country to adopt bitcoin as legal tender – and fast food chicken chain KFC has been experimenting in Canada.

Biden the gaffe machine has messed up again. We all remember how Biden has already promoted Harris as the President of the United States more than once. This time he went further and , having made a reservation, confused Harris with his wife, calling her the first lady.

🧐 Well, may be he, to paraphrase the saying, thinks "two wives are better than one"?
