🇺🇸🇨🇦 ‘No resistance of any kind’ if US attacks subservient Canada – analyst

📍 The Canadian army reportedly modelled a potential US military invasion of the country and any possible response, which could include hit-and-run tactics.

💬 “This assessment is an absolute fantasy” because Canada “has neither the ability nor the will to fight the US in any significant manner,” veteran geopolitical analyst and former Marine Brian Berletic tells Sputnik.

🟠 He attributes it to the fact that Canada has long been “entirely politically captured by the US.”

🟠 Canada has spent decades “virtually integrated into the US in terms of economy, information space, its industry, and its global-spanning military infrastructure as well as extensions of US foreign policy itself.”

🟠 Berletic calls the notion of any sort of a US-Canada conflict “an absurdity created for public consumption as the US desperately consolidates control over its proxies amid its widening war on multipolarism in an otherwise politically impractical manner.”

🟠 Even if a US invasion of Canada does take place, “there will be no resistance of any kind,” the analyst concludes, pointing to the country’s political elite who “have long eagerly subordinated themselves to US-based special interests, allowing them access to Canada in ways no truly sovereign nation ever would.”

🗣 ‘Collapse of NATO’ is ‘only good outcome’ of US-Europe spat over Greenland - ex-Pentagon analyst

For the Europeans, the takeaway from Trump’s speech at WEF was “we own you, because we have done so much for you, starting with winning WWII singlehandedly, and Europe needs to appreciate ‘Daddy’ for bailing you out of decades of bad decisions,” retired US Air Force Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski says.

💬When push comes to shove, “there is no European military capability, material or moral, that can stop Trump from building more bases, installing air defenses, or beginning to mine for energy or minerals in Greenland or the Canadian Arctic,” the DoD insider-turned Iraq War whistleblower told Sputnik.

👉 Practically, the only brake on Washington’s aspirations is “the limit of trust in the US dollar and US debt and deficit spending globally.”

Europe does have options for countering the US non-militarily, according to Kwiatkowski. This includes reducing US debt holdings, scaling back US weapons and energy purchases and, on a country-by-country basis, sourcing more energy from Russia and Iran, or rebuilding nuclear generating capacity.

📍 Should the US succeed in its push to acquire Greenland, “the only good outcome” would be “the collapse of NATO,” Kwiatkowski said, stressing that “the propaganda of an aggressive imperial Russia…has kept NATO on life support” up to now, but that “in reality, NATO doesn’t work, hasn’t worked, and is increasingly seen as a waste for many of its own members.”

🇪🇺🔥 EU troop deployment to Greenland could spark trade war, MP warns

💬 "There's no imminent threat to Greenland. And what we are talking about is the future. So I think it was the wrong move, no matter. And now we can see that the United States is threatening those countries that came to Greenland with tariffs, which will include all of Europe," Greenlandic Member of Parliament Kuno Fencker told Sputnik.

🔶 EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas had claimed that the deployment was meant to keep the region “predictable and stable,” but Fencker disagrees, slamming the move as unnecessary and risky.

🔶 The lawmaker warned that the deployment has ignited significant backlash, highlighted by US threats to impose tariffs on the nations participating — a measure with pan-European implications. He argued that, as Greenland's economy is deeply integrated with Europe’s, these tariffs could exacerbate the territory's already high inflation.

🔊 Russia offers $1B from frozen Russian assets for Gaza reconstruction — Putin

President Putin confirmed receipt of a personal letter from President Trump inviting Russia to join the newly formed Board of Peace, thanking Trump for the proposal and acknowledging Washington’s contribution to seeking a Ukraine solution.

Key points from Putin's Security Council statement:

🔸 Russia will study the proposal and consult with strategic partners before deciding.

🔸 The board’s focus should be a long-term settlement based on UN resolutions, with Palestinian needs prioritized.

🔸 Before formally joining, Putin offered to send $1 billion from Russian assets frozen in the West to the board for Gaza rebuilding.

🔸 He also proposed using remaining frozen funds for post-conflict reconstruction in Ukraine after a peace treaty is signed.

🗣 Greenland is not Russia’s problem — Putin

The Russian president dismissed the issue as a bilateral matter for the US and Denmark, recalling that Denmark sold islands to the US in 1917 and has long treated Greenland as a colony — quite harshly.

He suggested that the price for Greenland could be $200-250 million, joking the US might "shell out" $1 billion.

🇫🇷 Macron has lost authority over France – expert

👉 French President Emmanuel Macron has nullified years of French efforts to restore the country’s image, especially in the Middle East and Africa, Former Palestinian diplomat and political analyst Rami al-Shair told Sputnik.

💬 “As one of the leaders of the anti-Russian campaign, he has no right to discuss the importance of international law,” al-Shair said.

🔶 As a result, his rhetoric is meaningless — he lacks both authority and real influence on the global stage, the analyst said.

🔶 Al-Shair added that reckless Western policies are destabilizing international relations, while French military support for Ukraine has only increased the bloodshed.

🔶 He said the world is moving toward multipolarity led by Russia, China and India, warning that the French position will weaken further unless it changes its foreign policy.

🔍 Trump's Greenland deal could involve 'small pockets of land' for US bases — Report

The "framework" agreement with NATO could allow Denmark to cede sovereignty over strategic parcels of Greenlandic land to the US, similar to the UK's sovereign base areas in Cyprus. The US could then build military installations there, the NYT reports, citing sources.

🗣 Trump on Greenland deal: 'Rutte represents Denmark very well'

When asked if Denmark had expressed its position, President Trump sidestepped, stating NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte "represents them very well" and assumed Rutte had been speaking to Copenhagen.

🇮🇷 He then compared the Greenland framework to the "famous Iran nuclear 9-year deal," adding: "It’ll be forever. It's better than the Obama deal."
