🚨 ‘Let our patriots do their job!’ — Trump on Minnesota shooting

President Donald Trump wrote that the shooting involving ICE officers is being used as a “cover up” for what he described as “billions of dollars” missing from Minnesota, linking the unrest to alleged financial fraud and immigration enforcement.

💬 “The Mayor and the Governor are inciting Insurrection, with their pompous, dangerous, and arrogant rhetoric!” Trump claimed on Truth Social.

🗣 Russia condemns Ukrainian drone attacks on ambulances in Kherson — Zakharova

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Ukrainian drones attacked an ambulance in the Kherson region near Golaya Pristan, with the entire medical crew killed. She said a second ambulance was attacked in Energodar in the Zaporozhye region, with the vehicle damaged and the doctors surviving.

Zakharova said Kiev publicly speaks about peace and a ceasefire, including at forums such as Davos, while “doctors are deliberately and systematically killed,” calling it a continuation of what has been happening since 2014.

She added that those involved would be identified and that “just retribution” would come, but stressed the killed medical workers cannot be brought back.

🔥 AfD leader demands ‘Ukrainians, Zelensky, pay for blowing up our pipeline’

Alternative for Germany (AfD) co-chair Alice Weidel called on Ukraine to pay for the destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines.

💬 “We have invested over 70 billion in this country… We will reclaim these billions. Plus Nord Stream repairs,” Weidel said.

A former Ukrainian officer, who previously went by the name Sergey Kuznetsov, likely carried out the sabotage on the Nord Streams, the Federal Court of Germany revealed earlier. The man was arrested in Italy and extradited to Germany.

💬 Weidel also blasted the current German government as being “forgetful of history” for allowing German tanks to be sent against Russia again.

🚨 DHS says officer’s finger was bitten off in Minneapolis — Trump reposts

President Donald Trump shared on Truth Social a post by Tricia McLaughlin, the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the US Department of Homeland Security, regarding injuries to a federal officer during protests in Minneapolis.

In the reposted statement, McLaughlin wrote that “rioters attacked our law enforcement officer” and that “one of them bit off our HSI officer’s finger,” adding that “he will lose his finger.” The post included photos showing the injured hand and what appeared to be the severed fingertip in a medical container.

Trump did not add his own comments, but amplified the DHS official’s account amid ongoing unrest in Minneapolis following a fatal shooting involving federal agents earlier the same day.

Ukraine ignores Russia’s proposals for talks — Russian Foreign Ministry

Ukraine has ignored several Russian proposals aimed at advancing negotiations, said Alexey Polishchuk, Director of the Second CIS Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Polishchuk said that since July 2025, Ukraine has not responded to Russia’s initiatives on creating a bilateral center to monitor and control the ceasefire, establishing three working groups, or Russia’s readiness to raise the level of delegations. “In short, the ball is in Ukraine’s court,” he said.

He added that Moscow remains open to dialogue and rejected Kiev’s claims that the discussions were ineffective. Referring to Ukraine’s decision to suspend the Istanbul talks in November 2025 due to an alleged lack of “tangible progress,” Polishchuk said such explanations “sound far-fetched.”

Russia and Ukraine previously held three rounds of direct talks in Istanbul, resulting in prisoner exchanges, the transfer of bodies of deceased Ukrainian soldiers, and the exchange of draft memoranda on a possible settlement.

He also noted that closed-door security talks involving delegations from Russia, the US, and Ukraine recently took place in the UAE and focused on unresolved elements of the US peace plan.

📹🇬🇱 Power outage hits Greenland’s capital Nuuk — reports

The capital of Greenland, Nuuk, experienced a city-wide power outage late on Saturday, Reuters reported.

Greenland’s state utility Nukissiorfiit said the blackout was caused by an accident and that work was underway to provide backup power. Eyewitnesses told Reuters the outage occurred simultaneously across the city.

Nukissiorfiit and Greenland’s police issued statements on Facebook* confirming the disruption, but did not provide details on the nature of the accident.

Reuters noted that the outage followed a recent update to Greenlandic authorities’ emergency preparedness guidelines, made earlier this week after President Donald Trump publicly expressed interest in acquiring the Danish territory.

🗣 Democratic senators oppose DHS funding after Minneapolis shooting — reports

Several Democratic senators said they will block a bill funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) following another fatal shooting involving federal agents in Minneapolis, The Hill reported.

Sen. Mark Warner wrote that he would not support DHS funding, saying the latest incident was linked to immigration enforcement tactics. Sen. Elizabeth Warren also said she was a “hell no” on the bill, while other Democrats echoed calls for more oversight and accountability of ICE operations.

The Hill reported that the dispute comes as lawmakers prepare to vote next week on a package of funding bills to avert a partial government shutdown, a process now complicated by growing Democratic opposition after the Minneapolis shooting.

🇪🇺 Von der Leyen accused of ‘leniency’ towards Zelensky amid Ukraine corruption storm

Ursula von der Leyen is facing heat amid accusations of personally shielding Ukraine’s Zelensky from deeper corruption scrutiny, writes Berliner Zeitung.

The EC chief displayed an “excessively lenient” and overly indulgent attitude toward the leader of Ukraine’s regime, the outlet reports.

🟠 It focuses on a direct challenge from European Parliament member Fabio De Masi, who reportedly grilled von der Leyen on whether she had personally confronted Zelensky about the corruption allegations swirling around his administration.

🟠 Von der Leyen allegedly replied that she was “closely monitoring” the serious charges — but sidestepped any mention of a one-on-one talk with Zelensky, instead pointing to some routine “technical discussions” that happened months earlier.

🟠 The publication reminds that last December EU leaders sealed a blockbuster ≈ $106B support package for Ukraine covering 2026.

🟠 Yet just days before that decision, Ukraine’s biggest corruption storm broke, with a sprawling money-laundering and kickback scheme in the country’s energy sector exposed.

Charges were brought against seven individuals, including Zelensky’s close associate, businessman Timur Mindich, who allegedly led the network. Mindich earlier left Ukraine and is now on its wanted list.
