BER Abschiebegefängnis: Der Flughafen aller Probleme

Beim geplanten Abschiebezentrum am BER geht es nicht „nur“ um mehr Abschiebungen und mehr Abschiebehaft, sondern auch um richtig viel Geld: Mehrere hundert Millionen Euro hat das Land Brandenburg allein für Mieten und Pachten in den Haushalt eingestellt. State authorities have been trying to deport a 17- year-old Kurdish girl and her grandmother since yesterday (11 July) through Turkey and possibly then to Iran. There is a plan to pick them up at 15:00 and deport them today from the Berlin- Brandenburg Airport with SunExpress Flight XQ 694 to Dalman at 17:00.

The 17-year-old school girl has been involved in women's rights protests at her school in Iran and has since sought political refuge in Germany. Both the school girl and her grandmother's lives are at risk if they are successfully deported out of Germany. The government of Germany have supported Iranian Women's Rights Movements in words, and yet continue to deport Iranian people to Turkey despite the high risk of deportation to Iran afterward.

Activists are now gathering at the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport to try to stop the deportation.We will distribute leaflets and engage in creative civil disobedience. We will talk to the passengers checking in to stop the deportation
