I no longer agree with this previous tweet of mine - since 2017, I have become a much more willing connoisseur of mountains. It's worth explaining why.

First, the original context. That tweet was in a debate with Ian Grigg, who argued that blockchains 더 보기

BlackRock just dropped the official S-1 for it's upcoming iShares Bitcoin Premium Income [#ETF].. no fee or ticker yet. The strategy is to "track performance of the price of bitcoin while providing premium income through an actively managed strategy of writing (selling) call options 더 보기

Issuers like Baron are acutely aware of this conundrum bc they do both MFs and [#ETF]s and have started to push envelope. RONB just added a ton of SpaceX, as well as X.AI- pushing boundaries. Others will follow. This industry is really good at turning an inch into a mile. 더 보기

[#ETF] flows are +$121b in Jan so far. That's bonkers. The avg January is around $40b and the all time record is $88b (set last yr) and we still have a a week to go. Also $VOO at $19b is also nuts. $VOO's avg daily inflow is what all [#ETF]s' daily avg was 10yrs ago. New normal.

Top 10 [#ETF]s by volume today. Nuts. $GLD and $GDX too. And #5 is $AGQ which is 2x Silver [#ETF]. There's more metal on here than an episode of Headbanger's Ball (sorry, I had to)

The scaling hierarchy in blockchains:

Computation > data > state

Computation is easier to scale than data. You can parallelize it, require the block builder to provide all kinds of "hints" for it, or just replace arbitrary amounts of it with a proof of it.

Data is in the 더 보기

So $SLV ended up trading $40b worth of shares yesterday. To put that into perspective, that's more than it traded in all of Q1 last year. Jan + Feb +Mar = $35b. Options volume also in stratosphere. It's already done $1.5b in pre-market, which is 3x more than any other [#ETF], 5x 더 보기

“The US economy is not that rate sensitive except one thing: housing. And we have a housing problem.. my view being you gotta get that mortgage rate down.. and you’ll actually reduce inflation” - Rick Rieder on [#ETF] IQ last year when I asked him why cut rates if everything fine.

BIZARRE: The Silver [#ETF]s are laying down biblical level returns and volume and yet they've seen outflows over past day, week and YTD. $SLV saw some inflows in Q4 but not much. Not totally sure what to make of it tbh.. except that silver just *feels* much more vacant, flavor of 더 보기

The dread I see from bitcoiners (and the football spiking from the haters) is very short-sighted to me given that since 2022 (right before the BlackRock [#ETF] filing) Bitcoin is up 429%, gold 177%, Silver 350%, QQQ 140%. In other words bitcoin spanked everything so bad in '23 and 더 보기
